At this point, when it could be an ANYDAY type of thing...
how are from home would you go with existing kids and no partner? I am taking DD2 to a zoo about 45 min from here tomorrow, which I feel fine about. The contrx I had the last 24 hrs weirded me out a bit, but not enough to punt the trip. I am then kicking around a day trip to my folks with the kids on Sat (DH works I think) which is maybe an hour and 30 min away. This one I am thinking of punting if DH cant go. And Sunday we were all going to a ball game, but I am thinking of sending DH and some of his friends, as I am not sure it in me. He would be gone about 1 hr away, but there is the post/pre-game traffic gridlock that tends to ensue as well.

We are trying to balance not doing anything stupid, with know baby could come anytime.

Opinions?

Right now as I sit in the recliner, I wonder why the heck I would want to do ANY of it anyway, lol.

I debate the same thing, especially because my last labor was fast, and my older sis had baby #3 after only an hour of intense contractions.

But I'm tired of staying so close to home all the time!

I probably wouldn't go. But sending DH and the kiddos somewhere, leaving myself home alone, sounds absolutely heavenly! It would be great to have some alone-time, to just nap, read, watch movies or whatever. I haven't had that in forever! Personally, I wouldn't feel up to a ball-game at this stage of the game. I wouldn't go just because I don't think I'd have much fun and I would just be tired. :yawning

We live in the country so everything is a drive. I'd be fine with taking ds anywhere up to an hour away by myself. Dh works over an hour away (the wrong direction from our hospital, also an hour away - YIKES) and I'm really trying not to think about that too much!

I'm not going further than about an hour by subway these days, although we did go three hours upstate (together) a week ago. My husband came with me to NJ for the last several night classes I taught so that I wouldn't be in another state with a grueling and lengthy public transit commute home. He's also really uncomfortable with me driving right now, which I'm acquiescing to as I almost never drive anyway (or if I do, it's to NJ).
