Hi all! I'm new to your club.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/joy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="joy"> Due March 9th.<br><br>
I never noticed this in my previous pregnancies, but in the morning before I get out of bed to pee, my uterus feels hard and the top of it is just below my belly button. Then I pee and when I lay back down I can't feel a thing, just a bloated-like soft belly. I'm assuming my full bladder is pushing my uterus foward.<br><br>
Or is this perhaps not my uterus that I'm feeling? Does that seem high for a 14 week belly?<br><br>
Thanks mamas!

At my first appointment (just over 10 weeks), I was already up to my belly button. But this is my second, and apparently my uterus is just ready to go! I have the same thing though- my tummy is nice and firm in the morning when my bladder is pushing everything out more. Then, just mush. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a high fundus. I'm pretty sure mine is at my belly button. Ill be 16 weeks tomorrow with my second. Mine is also much harder when my bladder is full.

Yup, I'm at 15 weeks and mine is normally about 1.5" below my belly button, but when I have to pee it is definitely higher, and feels really hard, like during a Braxton Hicks. I also get kind of crampy even a little before I really feel like I need to pee, then it's gone as soon as I go.

Thanks girls.....that makes me feel better. I was beginning to worry about twins. What's funny is that the height of my uterus seems to be different everyday now that I'm paying more attention.<br><br>
Something to bring up to my midwife.

Mine was 13cm at 12 weeks. A few inches below my navel. I thought about this last night, but forgot to feel for my uterus this morning when I woke up. How exactly to you ladies feel for it? What does it feel like?

I didn't get an actual measurement, but my OB today said it was 2cm above my pubic bone and right on for 14 weeks. I feel like I've popped though!

March 9th is a great EDD...it's my birthday. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>
As for fundal height...my midwife didn't measure mine at the appointment. I just get this feeling that it is quite high already. I just don't know how far right now.

I have no clue. I keep trying and trying and trying, and I can't feel it at all. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

I couldn't feel mine either, but today the doc told me it was about 1 inch under my belly button, and I'm 12 weeks 2 days today, we heard a heartbeat today too! That was a relief because when I couldn't really feel how bigmy uterus was I was getting worried.

I had a BH and it was hard all the way up to my belly button and I was around 14w then. I found out that your uterus can move up when you've been laying down awhile. Turns out mine was halfway between my bb and pelvis.

I am 14 weeks with my first baby and also had no idea how to do this. I found this thread with some good descriptions of how to find and measure:<br><a href="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=1040533" target="_blank">http://www.mothering.com/discussions....php?t=1040533</a><br><br>
I also found this website with more detailed information:<br><a href="http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/356757/what_every_woman_should_know_how_to.html" target="_blank">http://www.associatedcontent.com/art...ow_how_to.html</a><br><br>
Good luck everyone!

hmmm... I guess I don't know!<br><br>
I haven't had a prenatal (I guess I'm relaxed about that). And, I can feel it a little bit myself, but I don't think I'm going to measure myself.<br><br>
I have heard lots of people say it feels different at different times of day and with other stuff going on inside their bodies.

Answering again - yesterday (16 weeks), I noticed when I was measuring in the morning that it was 20cm with a full bladder and during & after a Braxton Hicks, then it was down to 17cm in the evening when it was soft. So it does vary throughout the day and according to conditions. Maybe something to keep in mind if anyone has a MW/OB stressing them about measuring large or small.
