I found out last Friday, at 14 weeks, that my pregnancy is a blighted ovum. I started spotting/bleeding one week before the diagnosing ultrasound and have been bleeding steadily, but not at all heavily, since. I have only had vague, mild cramps and have not passed any tissue. I would prefer to handle this at home on my own, but how long can I safely wait? Can it take weeks to complete? I am trying to be positive and strong, but the longer it takes, the more emotional and tired I become. I guess I'm just looking to find out of this is still well within the realm of normal or not.

thanks.

It's well within the range of normal.

I just m/c a blighted ovum at the end of March. At 20 weeks.

I had started spotting at 16 weeks. blah blah blah, confirmed it around 19 weeks... blah blah blah m/c at just about 20 weeks.

Hang in there. I think *knowing* was part of what let my body let go. I had lots of bleeding before the actual m/c (off and on) then when the real thing happened there was no mistaking it. It sucked, but when it was over, it was over.

Hang in there. You'll get through it.

Yes, that's within the range of normal. It took me many weeks to miscarry a blighted ovum earlier this year. My miscarriage was not painful, but it drug out for some time and really "happened" on two separate days.

General wisdom around here seems to be that as long as you don't get an infection, it's OK to wait. Be watchful for any fever and flu like symptoms.

I found this thread to be quite helpful http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=404839
