It makes me wonder how long in average it takes for BFing to stop hurting after the baby is born. I personally went through pure HELL
for MANY MANY weeks before I was able to somewhat enjoy BFing! It makes me very emotional just to think about those times. I had zore help or support and it really makes me angry that I had to go through that. It totally took away any chance for me to have another baby, ever
It makes me sick from stomach right now, just typing this.

Labor was literally nothing comparing to what I went through the first 10 weeks of my son's life. Zero bonding, zero rest, just PAIN PAIN PAIN and again...PAIN. WHY WHY WHY? Why do we have to go through such hard times? Isn't labor enough?

I am so sorry for all of you who has or is experiencing anything remotly similar with BFing. You are all in my prayers!

I was also wondering if there is any corrolation whatsoever between painfull BFing and ....how to say it.....not enjoying nipple stimulation before, in sexual way I mean. I HATED being touched on my nipples not even mentiong nipple stimulation or anything like that!
:
I have seen some posts here that have mentioned the same, so I wondered if it does have anything to do with that or if it's just coincidence (sp?).

Sorry to rant
: ...it's been kind of sitting inside me for those past 10 months....looking for way how to release it.....

I'm so sorry to hear about your awful experience. Honestly - I had almost no nipple pain at all. I was lazy about watching Killy's latch one day the first week and got a blister on one nipple, but that has been the only problem and it cleared up withing 2-3 days. I love breastfeeding...

Nipple stimulation has always been VERY pleasurable for me, and its always been a big part of foreplay for DH and I. Its interesting to me that breastfeeding feels good, but in a completely non-sexual way.

With ds#1, I had inverted nips and he had a lazy latch so it took a good 8 weeks or so before it didn't hurt and I could actually enjoy the experience and both of us weren't crying at each feeding. He literally had to stretch the tissue out. I had a Lac consultant come to my house and the works with him. It was rough. With ds's2&3 I was only sore the first week when they're toughening you up and your bb's are adjusting to being nursed on again. THANK GOODNESS!!

I'm sorry you had such a rough time with it too. It is so hard to feel like we can't do one of the most important things our bodies are designed to do!!

1st dd: About a month and a half
2nd dd: just a couple of days I think

I think I hurt so much the first time cuz I didn't get help right away. So to those of you who are suffering, please see a LC or experiended nursing friend who can help you with proper latch - it really does make a difference. Also, you will want to rule out thrush, etc which can cause pain but can be treated. You deserve not to hurt

about four months with DD1 - she had a tight frenulum, poor latch and weak suck and was unable to nurse until three months. so it was one month after she finally was able to nurse that my nipples stopped hurting. But, and this is the weird part, pumping also hurt tremendously, but only after I stopped. I had blanching and what seemed to be raynaud's. Since I also have way too much estrogen in my system, raynaud's is a very real possibility.

never had any pain with DD2. don't know why it would be so different.
She was also tongue-tied, but had no problems nursing, unlike her sister.

We had the thrush that wouldn't go away and a bad latch for the first couple of weeks. I think it was nearly a year before it stopped hurting and it started hurting again when I got pregnant (when DS was about 18-19 months). I'm hoping it's better this time.
