How long did you bleed after your d&c?

I had a d&c on June 3 at almost nine weeks for what they believed at the time was a molar pregnancy, but turned out to be a blighted ovum. So, that was two weeks ago tomorrow and I am still bleeding. It has been pretty much just spotting, although a few times in the last week I got a gush of watery blood that overflowed the pantyliner. The blood will be brown for a while (usually in the morning) and I will think it's ending and then it will be red again. I have my follow up with the dr on tuesday, but I was just wondering how long other people bled after a d&c. I've been taking my temps too and they are still high. I just want to get back to normal as soon as possible so we can start trying again but I guess my body will take its own time. Anyway, I'd appreciate hearing what other people's experiences were.

I had a D&C on June 7th and I blead lightly ( except for 1 day of a nasty clot) for 1 week. For about 2 days i had lightly tinted discharge but thats all. I was 10 weeks but only 7 by baby size. I chose to have the d&C rather than to wait for nature.

I had a D&C at fifteen weeks gestation for a loss about 3 months ago. I bled about 2.5 weeks on and off like your talking about. I was told that the brown blood is older blood, and the red blood is a newer layer that you are shedding after the d&c. I am sorry for your loss, and hope you will recover soon.

The first time I miscarried in Nov 2004, I had a D&C at 10 weeks (m/c at about 9 weeks). I bled irregularly as you described, for close to a month. I believe I saw my OB during that time for a follow-up and he was not concerned about my bleeding. I know that I called again because I was still bleeding (and wondering if it would ever stop)... but it slowed and stopped just about a month after the D&C. It was another full month until my next cycle, so I think for me I may have bled right into my period (who knows).

I guess what I'm saying is, I would guess it's just normal bleeding after a D&C, as others have said. I'm very sorry for your loss. Good luck with your appointment, and TTC again.
