I have the BSWW that I bought in Dec 2001 and used for the next year and a half or so on DD. Now I'm using them on DS, and they seem really stretched out. Like the elastic isn't really working all that well anymore. Is this a normal lifespan for them?

And follow-up question: where can I get some more (with working elastic) bsww or similarly long-lasting diaper covers cheap? Like $10 or less?

I think the general rule of thumb is to expect to buy new PUL covers for each baby....no matter the brand.
If they work for 2, you lucked out

I've kept a couple of my PUL covers from my DS, but he wore them just a handful of times each, and for about a month....so i'm expecting they should be OK, but I'll still consider myself lucky if they function...heh.

Diapers and prefolds though, should last much longer than a PUL cover.

I have some mediums that just lived through their third child (and have life left. They dont look pretty, as the loop on the front panel is pretty fuzzy and pilly, but they work!)
I even have a size large that I just started using on a fourth baby (the old style before they added that front inner panel) and again, although not pretty, it works!

I do not ever machine dry my covers though. Always washed in mild soap/detergent and hung to dry.

Well, Paige has been using her Bummis SIWW mediums for about 14 months now. They still look great, and work great.

We gave all of her newborns and smalls to my best friend, and she, in turn passed them on to another lady who is still using them (19 months in constant use...pretty good, if you ask me!)

Considering the reasonable price, I think that they are a total deal!

No Pins for Baby has the white ones for $8.95, and I am pretty sure that she has free shipping.
