We just use detergents which are free of perfumes and such (all free, tide free etc) for everyone's laundry.

Although I do wonder when fabric softener and dryer sheets become ok...

I also use Tide Free. My ped told me that that is essentially what baby detergents are. I just wash all our clothes together.

I too use tide. Double rinse. I felt ( and smelled) that the baby detergent did not get the clothes clean enough. Anyone else find this?

We've never used baby detergent.

Personally I;m allergic to alot of detergents (dreft, tide, all, woolite etc ).
So everyone in this house gets there clothes washed in Arm & hammer or Amway when I can get it.

And the only person who gets thier clothes washed seperate from everyone else's is my DH - his work clothes are full of metal shavings and such.

Niether one of my girls has ever had any rashes or problems from thier clothes being washed in arm & hammer right along with my pants and some towels.

And I can't imagine affording the monry and time for special soap and seperate double rinsed loads... I barley get all the laundry done as it is.

We just used All Free & Clear, then switched to 7th generation as I tried to be more green. I looked at the All baby detergent, and it actually had more crap in it than the F&C.

We use all free and clear for everyone's laundry. When dh's work clothes are extra nasty his stuff gets washed seperate to keep the gunk off everyone else's clothes. I'm not worried about anything from my clothes or other household stuff being with baby stuff.

I've never used baby detergent. We use Tide Free as well. One time some of her stuff got in our load when we used fabric softener and a dryer sheet and she was fine. So her loads get a minimal amount of softener to keep them from getting crunchy. Always double rinsed.

Never did. We use All Free & Clear due to DH's allergies, so all our clothes get washed with that.

Sounds like most of us use Tide or All (or some other brand) with no dyes perfumes.... Tha's also what we are using.

I think the baby detergents are a scam.

It is a rip-off!
We used it for the first 2 months, then changed to All Free and clear and still use it .... I think it is the same "idea" in that there are no perfumes or dyes to irritate the baby. My DS is 14 months now.

We were using Free and Clear whatever was on sale for a long time. I bought one bottle of All Baby, and I *hated* the smell. He's never had a reaction to laundry, and it makes my life easier. We just use whatever now. He's 14 months, and we've been doing it that way for a few months, at least.

We never used baby detergent. I have sensitive skin so our default detergent is Arm and Hammer Sensitive Skin (no perfumes or dyes). We just used that for baby clothes and had no issues at all.

I also use a scentless fabric softener and we've been fine.

Apparently Dreft actually contains a fabric softener (which is why you shouldn't use it on cloth diapers).

I've never used baby detergent. I use a scent-free HE detergent for all our clothes and have never had a problem. I do put all the baby clothes through an extra rinse though.
