I know that eventually leg elastic is going to go and that's just the fact of life with diapers, but how long should it last? I have a fitted that I bought from a WAHM and I've only had it about a month and a half. It's only been worn about 6-7 times because we have so many fitteds and it's so pretty that I tend to skip over it for fear of getting it dirty. Could there be such a thing as a batch of bad elastic or something? One leg on this diaper has the elastic completely shot.

I know I should email her but I always feel so bad emailing a WAHM about a problem.

I guess I just need someone to tell me that I'm not crazy and that it should have lasted longer. Plus this wasn't an inexpensive fitted, it runs in the $20+ range.

Sounds like bad elastic to me- that's crazy! If fitteds only lasted for 7 washings, that'd be pretty expensive diapering. I think they should last the diapering span of at least one kid, and so far mine are doing really well.

Ive had some of my diapers for 7 almost 8 months and only once have I had elastic go bad. It was one that was 8 months old used by someone then used by us and about an inch of the elastic on the front of one side shot, but it didnt affect performance and was still going strong when I sold it.

I think elastic on daily use washed and dried in a machine should last AT LEAST 6 months

6 -7 times on a diaper that cost in the $20s is insane - I expect all my diapers to last the entire time I'm using them, and even longer on the smalls/newborns. Granted we would wash about every 3 days or so, but still. I wouldn't be happy after 6 - 7 uses at all.

I agree with emailing her - if nothing else I think SHE would want to know this was happening. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I emailed her and I love working with her anyway and I knew she would be helpful. I just hate sending those kinda emails, ya know? She said she's never had that happen before and it was probably just a fluke, I have a bunch of her diapers and I've never had a problem with any of the other ones.
She's replacing it for me, which is so awesome!

You can definitely get a 'bad' batch of elastic! (speaking from experience, here!). Let her know, for sure, because she needs to correct the problem so it won't happen again!
