I am due in October and I am trying to determine how many diapers I need for my little one. I have purchased mostly fitted diapers and a few covers, but I want to make sure I have enough. I am also not sure if the grow with me diapers work for a newborn or do I need actual newborn diapers?

18 to 24 is a good number and 4 to 6 covers. A couple of those covers being nb size. The baby will out grow the covers before the nb dipes. We use a variety of nb and small diapers at first then the One size type later. Kylie is 7 weeks and still in her newborns at a little over 9lbs.

I'd aim for 36 for a newborn One size with depend on your babys size at birth. They will be bulky but if you have a average to larger baby say 7/8 lbs and above one size withh probably work (thinness will also be a factor) and if on a budget can be worth the bulk.. small babies wont mine was 6lbs and no way did she fit the few one sizes. Prefolds though I thing are super on a new born and inexpensive.

I started with 32 and 6 extra inserts (we use FB). That was a great number for us. I wash every other day. Could've gotten by with less if I'd washed daily but I was too pooped to do laundry everyday.

I went a little nuts and started with over 75 dipes and about 20 covers/soakers etc. It was a lot but most of them fit her till she was about 3 months and I didnt' have to do laundry every other day. Oh I'd buy actual NB dipes just go for one's that go up to about 15lbs. Some on ly go to 10lbs.

I'd say between the 24-36 range. You'd probably be okay with 24, but if you feel like laundry might be an issue, I'd go for more!!

I'd say 36 is a good number and 6 covers. When you have that many, it's nice not thinking about whether you are going to run out of diapers

Go with newborn sizes. If you think you are going to have a large baby then stick with diapers that go up to 15lbs

We have alittle over 36 NB diapers and severl covers to choose from. That way I don't ever feel stressed if I can't do laundry that day. I know I'm covered for alittle longer.
