I'm thinning my stash! Now that he's nine months, Ronan's diaper usage has slowed down (whew). If I only kept what I really love (and this is counting diapers in the mail), I'd have 16 fitteds, two nighttime diapers, and four day covers and one night cover. Plus four pockets for the diaper bag. Hmmm...could this really be enough?? As a newborn, no way. But maybe now it is.

16 is cutting it close. I wash every other day. I could go 1/2 day more if I need to, but that's cutting it close. I have 2 doz. prefolds, 2 fitteds, 3 AIOs, 1 PUL cover, 1 fleece cover, 1 wool wrap and 3 soakers. That's a very comfortble every other day stash, I think. I would have 2 doz. dipes, plus AIOs/diaper bag stuff and nightime stuff.
ETA: My son is also 9 months old.

Ah, so now I can justify buying eight more diapers! :LOL

I would need 24, I have 40 total I think so I do them usually every three or four depending on his pee habits that week.

I change DS 16 times a DAY, but I only have 8 fitteds, so I do the laundry twice a day(once in mid day and once at night)

For us we would probably need 3 dozen to be able to wash every other day(16 for day one and 16 for day 2 and 4 for oopsies and while I am washing, LOL)

(PS my DS is 11months old and gets changed aboout every 45 minutes because he hates to feel wet)

Wow, 16 times a day? Mama, you need some more dipes! But I bet you knew that. I don't think I would need to change that often even if we were coverless all the time. Devlin tends to go a bunch at one time. Sometimes I'll go to change him after a couple of hours and the dipe is totally dry! And he goes 12 hours at night without a change, due to very careful and elaborate diaper engineering. He FREAKS OUT if I wake him by changing him. It's not pretty...this is just to elaborate on why I get by on 2 doz. for every other day wash.

Maybe you could have 4 more fitted for the days you need a few extra. I'd hate for him to get sick and need more but you not have them. I've been there and you can go through a lot of dipes in no time. Then, you're tired and don't want to wash.

Well I'd say 16 is enough to wash every day but what you'll find is you'll wear them out very quickly because they'll ALL get washed in the once cycle. I think you could justify as many as thirty on the basis that they'll last much longer if you have that many.

At least 30 daytime diapers is what I'm finding we need. DS is 11 months. I have 6 nighttime/town diapers, and the rest are used coverless at home. I have about 24 right now and we have to do laundry at least every 36 hours - I'd like to go 48 again and not have to wash every day.

I was going to say at least 30. I change Aidan about a dozen times a day (he's 4 months) so that'd be enough for 2 days plus 6 extras for while you're washing and if you line dry (since it takes longer).

I usually wash every other day. If I run out of fitteds I just through a pocket diaper on him until the other diapers are clean.

I am in the process of ordering more, but I still dont have the money to get enough for even a day, I can only get 6 more, so we are short 2, LOL

DS is a dry sleeper and never wets when he naps or when he is asleep for the night, so he pees 16 times a day while awake and that is just a lot, LOL, but he nurses a WHOLE lot too.

I figured I change him every 45 minutes during the day. The diapers I have are already fading and showing wear and they are only 1-2 months old.

It is gonna be a long road, LOL, a long and holey road, LOL

Id say if you got enough money then get 3 dozen!

30ish. I just counted mine that are drying outside, and I have 34 drying, and they are washed every other day.

I have 42 in current rotation and I wash every other day. I line dry and sometimes the diapers may be on the line all day. So I really need to make sure I have enough for 3 days...if that makes sense.

you know we could probably get by with 16 day, 4 night, and a few extras for the diaper bag. but my dd is 14-mos and goes longer between wetting now as well as going in the potty a few times a day. i just packed away everything that wasn't quick drying and i'm left with 26 fitteds (yes still a lot), 5 hemp flats and 1 aio. i'm hoping to pick up a couple more AIOs since i finally found one that works for dd and perhaps something specifically for night, but we have plenty to wash every other day.

28 was my magic number. I use wonderoos and have 21, which means I rarely have to use anything else. On those serial poop days (you know-take one off, put new one one, poop again), I have to dig into my LLs and fitteds. That put me at 28 the last time I counted.
