I'm trying to make my first ring sling and I was wondering how many inches (inside diamiter) the ring in your ring sling is. Anyone have a Maya wrap or something like that want to measure that ring for me? Thanks!

I have made loads of them! For a basic cotton one I use the medium aluminum rings from SlingRings. I don't use any other ring. The measurements are on there. For a thicker fabric I'll use a large (like on my bridal silk one).

WSS. for most fabric i use large rings. a single layer of linen you can manage with medium ones.

Well, I could not find the proper rings so used what I could. They have worked out fabulously (I check them regularly for signs of stress) but the proper ones would be nicer 'cause I find mine kind of large (3.5")

i've seen diy rsling w/beautiful sewing talent but the rings are very important to ensure the safety of your ring sling.

I've seen a lovely DIY sling, but with plastic rings!
I would never trust plastic not to break when stressed.
