My ds is 17mo and has 11 teeth and is working on #12 I know that cutting teeth is a idividual thing and some get teeth sooner than others and there is really no 2 alike but I was curious and wanted to ask u all.
My dd cut her first 2 teeth at 5mo and always cut her's 2 at a time both errupting at the same time every time. She only cut 1 by itself and that 1 was a extra tooth.
My ds cut his first tooth at 7mo he seems to cut 1 then the next follows a week or 2 later.
The poll has 2 parts the first part askes how many teeth ur dc had at 17mo the second poll askes age of first tooth.
Take the poll then tell me about your child's teeth
If you have more than 1 child u can answer seperatly for each of them.
Julia had no teeth at all until almost 9 months (maybe 8, I can't remember exactly) and then they all seemed to come at once. At 17 months, she had 16 teeth. The only one's she's missing still are the two-year molars (she's 19 months now.)
My DS got his first two teeth at 4 months of age. He seemed to get two a month until he was about 16 months old. He had all 16 teeth then, we're just waiting on the 2 yo molars, which *may* be coming in now but I'm not sure. He won't let me in his mouth! He's almost 19 months now.
my 2 are polar opposites with teething. DS1 got his first 2 at 4 mo, and all the rest came in pairs every few weeks until a year. Then his 2 year molars came in around 18 mo. It was the easiest, least painful teething ever; he's be cranky for a day or 2 and then have 2 new teeth.
DS2, on the other hand, is having the hardest time with teething of any baby I have seen. His first didn't come in until 8 mo and his second at 10 mo. Each one has taken at least a month to come in from the first sign of a lump to finally a tiny tip breaking the surface and then several more months to fully grow in and it alters his personality so much. He is 21 mo now and working on 2 canines with still one last one to go. I don't know how long it will take for his 2 year molars, but I can't wait until it's over
I voted for Evan, but he's not quite 16 mos. He got his first tooth at 8 mos and just got #5 and #6 last week. AJ otoh got his first took\th at 6 mos and had all his teeth (so, 14?) by 14 mos.
At 17 months I believe my first son had all of his 2 year molars, and my second son was still working on 2 of them.
First son's 1st tooth started making an appearance at 2 1/2 months, but wasn't fully in until 5 months. Second son woke up at 3 months old on easter morning with his two front bottom teeth.
Dd started teething at around 3 or 4 months, the first 2 teeth cutting through at 5 months. After that, it's been 2 at a time or more. Her molars cut all 4 at once and her canines have cut all 4 at once too. They are 4 little pointy edges right now, it looks so menacing! She is almost 18mos. Teething hasnt been too terrible, but I will say, we have used one full tube of Hylands teething gel and 3 bottles of 125 tablets and 3 bottles of 250 tablets. I think they really help, and dd loves to pluck them out of the palm of my hand these days and feed them to herself.
We have also made breastmilk ice cubes and let her suck on them through one of those little mesh bag thingies and frozen washcloths are nice.
OT, sort of---I am curious about those amber necklaces for teething, do they really work?
Our dd got his first tooth at 10 months and they seemed to come in a month a part from April until July, giving him 4 teeth. Then he didn't get his one year molars till he was 17-18 months, putting him at 8 teeth by 17 months (this was in October/November 2005). He didn't get another tooth until January, and there hasn't been another one since. So, he'll be 2 in 2 months and just 9 teeth. I know there's more in there (obviously) but for a while, I really thought my child had no teeth! If this makes for stronger teeth, then I'm all for it. It also just makes the whole process so drawn out!
