<p>My DD is 8.5 months old and has NO teeth. She has seriously been "teething" since she was 3 months old. She has the following symptoms on again/ off again: runny nose, low grade temp, chewing and sucking on her fingers and back of her hand", becoming really fussy and then is relieved when I give her something to chew on. It is so weird that she has been at it for so long and still has no teeth. Are they all going to come in at once?</p>

<p>I know it is totally normal for a baby her age not to have teeth, but what happens when they do come in? Will they come in faster?</p>

My DS was similar, it felt like he had teething symptoms for months. His first tooth broke through a little after eight months, and literally within a week he had four teeth (the two center teeth, top and bottom). A few weeks later the next four started breaking through, but it took about a month for all of of them to arrive. He's had eight teeth for a few months now (he's 12.5 mo). So in our experience, yes - later teething did lead to the teeth coming in faster. I don't know if that's typical, though.

<p>I dunno.  D turned 1 yr last sunday and has 16 teeth.  He teethed 4 at a time starting at 3 months.  It's been hell, but only 4 to go!!!!!</p>

<p>My daughter didn't have any until almost 7 months and then suddenly she cut 4 at once. And now (8 months) she's working on her 5th.</p>

<p>At 8 mos my son had 8 teeth but that's not very common, so I wouldn't go by it. I suspect your baby will have several come in at the same time, from what you describe. So sorry to hear it's been hard on her.</p>

<p>Yup, DS cut his first tooth the day he turned 9 months old, and he had four within a week and a half. He's been cutting another four for at least a month now, if not a little longer, and only one has come up yet. I'm expecting the other 3 very soon.</p>

<p>DD has zero teeth.  None.  Zip.  She'll be 8 months in about a week.  It doesn't even look like any are coming anytime soon, although she is drooling a lot and loves to bite down on things.</p>

<p>My cousin's daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was over a year old, and at about a year and a half  now, she still doesn't have very many.</p>

<p>The range of normal is quite wide!</p>

<p>My DS got his first tooth 2 days after turning 6 months old.  He got his second a week later.  Now at 7 months he is cutting his third. I have been told that they come in twos so I expect to see another very soon. </p>

<p>DS is 9 months and has two.  He didn't get his first two until 8 months.  He's currently working on the top two.</p>

<p>DD started teething early on. I think her first one was 5 months.</p>
<p>She has 4 now. 2 top, 2 bottom and cutting another as I write.</p>
<p>She's 1 week shy of 9 months right now.</p>

My DD is three months and has two teeth. But she is just weird.

<p>Dd is 9 months and has two bottom teeth. They came in pretty much at the same time. I wouldn't worry. And they may come a bunch at a time, that happened with our older dd.</p>

<p>DD is 11 months old and just got 2 bottom molars! She has 10 teeth now. Her first tooth broke through the day after she was 6 months old.</p>

<p>At 11 months DS has 2 half teeth. They broke through at sometime before 10 months. He may be working on the upper 2 now but they are not close to cutting through yet. <p>my dd is 9.5 months and has had her bottom two for a good two months. she is just now starting to show signs of the top two. she was incidentally the first in our playgroup to get any teeth, but has now been surpassed in quantity by everyone... except the one 10.5 month old who has zero.</p>

<p>DS didn't get his first tooth until a year.  I don't remember if they came in fast or slow after that.  I also swore, though, he was teething all the time - from about 4 mos. </p>

<p>DS1 got his first tooth at 6 months, his second at 7 months and then they came in bunches - he had 16 at a year of age.  Nothing for a whole year - then the last 4 right after he turned two! </p>

<p>DS2 got his first two at three months - and at 7 months has 7 teeth. </p>

<p>Wow, thanks everyone for your repies! After a really, really long night with pretty much NO sleep, my babe has her first tooth! When I felt around in there, I can feel 5 more that feel like they are ready to pop through (as in, they feel about how how the spot that now has a tooth felt yesterday). She is so fussy, and I feel so bad for her.</p>
