just wondering...

do you remember every detail about labour and birth? do you remember the way things felt?

i remember every event that took place, but i don't remember what much of anything felt like. i remember it hurt a lot and that i was really hot but that's about it. it's almost like remembering a dream.

I remeber everything and I definetly remember the pain and don't want to do it ever again, but I also remeber that I made it through just fine and that it didn't hurt as much and I thought it would and I remember seeing my baby for the first time. So the pain was well worth it.

I had a scheduled c/s.... as I did not have any mind altering drugs during, I remember it all very well. Afterwards is a bit hazy once the meds started flowing.

I very clearly remember my quick look at DD's bum and feet over the curtain.

Just the highlights with my older ones, it's been awhile
. But my homebirth this past December, I remember everything, what I was wearing, where I was in labor, what I said/what was said to me, how it felt during pushing, and seeing her for the first time.

i knew that many women said you forget the pain of labor, so i made certain to find an apt comparison so i wouldn't (i know, i'm strange). if i didn't make the analogy at the time, i think i would not remember the pain as well as i do.

overall, i think i remember most of it pretty well. but then again, would i know if i'm remembering wrong.

Just highlights. I really felt like I was on drugs. Good drugs
I watched the birth video and it was way different than I remember. I couldnt believe how quiet it was. In my head there was a lot of noise going on!!!

Some things I remember very well. Other things I don't. I started forgetting things almost immediatly after her birth. My mom has reminded me of some things. My sister told me to write a birth story because I would forget rapidly and I didn't believe her. now I wish I had written one to see how well I actually do remember.

About the pain, I remember there being some but I don't remember it like I can still feel it.

I have very intense memories of it all but I know that they do not match what others at the birth would remember. After all the endorphins (and other hormones) did put me in an altered state.

The pain memory did fade. I remember that it hurt but not how it hurt. This pregnancy I have had some muscles in my body ache a little and I've had moments of "Oh, yeah." For instance the inner muscles in my legs and pelvis have been achy after a long day and it reminds me of the muscle aches immediately post partum.

I hardly remember anything. I mainly just remember the pushing part. I was really out of it the first time. I watched the video afterwards & do not remember that many people being in the room. With my second, I remember getting the pitocin & then epidural. I don't remember anything until the pushing. Maybe it was the epidural.

Yep, I definitely remember them. DD2's is a lot clearer then DD1, but I think that is time, 7 months ago vs 4.5 years ago.
The memories aren't hazy, I remember many details.

My labor was very intense and very short - 2 hours total - and I just remember telling DH I didn't really want to do this and couldn't we just make it stop? Hee hee. I don't really remember all that much, though I had no drugs other than the devil-in-disguise Pitocin. I clearly remember asking the nurse to turn it off, and I clearly remember DD's birth. I remember a lot of the conversation - things said to me, though not my exact response - and I remember staring at a spot on the ceiling really helping me to focus like a dancer during turns. In the 9 months since she was born, I remember less and less. I have always wondered, but haven't yet asked DH, if I was noisy. I don't recall being noisy, but it seems like the most productive thing to do would be to grunt and groan and grumble sometimes...

I checked out and went to laborland early on. It's funny the things my dp and friends tell me about it. "I said that? Really?"

I do remember pushing though, and when my water broke in the kitchen (it was clear!), and taking showers, and getting in the tub...bits and pieces, hazy like pp said.
