I am trying to look for reassurance that my dd is not the worlds smallest 21 month old child. i got her weighed and she weighs 18lbs 1oz, please tell me that she isnt the only one!

round it up or down to the nearest 1/2 lb.
I have a friend at work who's daughter will be three years old next month and weighs 24-25 lbs. She's happy and healthy! Not sure how much she weighed at 21 months, but I know she put on quite a few pounds between two and three years old.
DD1 was/is always at the top of the height weight chart and she was 30lbs at her 24month ped visit. So she was probably pretty close to that at 21mo.

Is your little one healthy and active? Is she nursing, or eating a good vareity of foods? If so, I wouldn't worry about her being a bit petite!
Ds has always been on the low end of height/weigh charts, but he's got great muscle tone and does not look unhealthy.

He is currently 26 mos and weighs 23.5lbs and is as active as can be. I just did his height earlier today and he's not grown since May, putting him at 33 inches. I'd like him to eat more and more variety, but he's in a stubborn eating stage right now.

Like Wombatclay said-as long as your little one is eating well, looks healthy and is active, you're ok! Everyone grows and develops differently and that's just who they are and how they grow!

DD was about 26.5 pounds at 21 months. It might sound like a lot, but she is very tall and slender.

I don't think it sounds like a lot. My dd was the same and she was in the 50th percentile. She was also in the 90th percentile for height.
My eldest daughter, now nearly 27 months, over 3 feet tall, and 28 pounds, was 20 pounds by 5 months, 23 pounds at one year, 27 pounds at 18 months, and 28 pounds by 24 months.

So I guess she was between 27 and 28 pounds at 21 months.

She was a chunky 9 pound, 9 ounce baby at birth, though.

My second babe was only 5 pounds 8 ounces at birth, but they were both 19.5 inches when born.

My youngest is exactly 12 months old right now and 18 pounds.
my 21 month old weighs about 20 lbs and she has gained two of those pounds in the last 2 months since we have been living abroad. she weighed 5 lbs at birth and has always been skinny but so is her dad and i am pretty small. we eat a vegan diet, too. i think it is important to consider things like that when thinking about weight. i have def worried about her though when i stop to compare her to other kids.
My little one will be 22 mos tomorrow. She is 24.5 lbs.

My friend's granddaughter is 19 mos and weighs 19lbs.

There is a whole range of normal.

How big are the parents? Rest of family? Are they eating well. Are the healthy otherwise? Active? Happy?
Not sure about 21 mo, but my ds just turned 23 mo and he is 35 lbs and 37 inches tall. He's always been top of the charts for height and a little off the charts for weight...My dd was the same way and she is 5 ft 7inches at 12..tall and skinny. I would say your little one is more on the normal side! It must be nice to carry a babe that don't break your back!!
