Okay seriously, I had the best time yesterday. DH who has never really like Christmas is already looking forward to next year. My little man was so happy and had so much fun with his new drum (from grandpa santa) and the rocking cow we got him. He got his daddy natural wooden blacks and they have been having a blast. DH builds something and DS hands him the next block to use, then they knock it down and start over.

Any other new mamas have a great time with their babe at Christmas?

Glad to hear your family had such a wonderful holiday!

Ours was fun, but it was a lot of work for me. Mia is not quite 7 months and while she had fun with the gift opening (oohhhhh... paper and boxes!!!!), it mostly overstimulated her. Which, in turn, made her only want me (normally she can hang with DH for quite a while before she fusses for me) , and I was busy trying to get dinner on the table. Thankfully, my mom was in the kitchen with me keeping things moving when I had to be pulled away or had a baby in my arms.

I'm really looking forward to next year, though. She'll be 19 months and I predict she'll have a ball!
My only concern is the tree... she was obsessed with it this year, but she's barely crawling, so she was easy to contain. Next year, we may have to get a small tabletop tree, or else gate off the big one.

We have a peaked ceiling, so on the high side of the room we put a 6 ft tree on a side table. DS could reach the bottom branches and we pt no ornaments or lights low. DH whipped up this wonderful tether thing you couldn't see but it anchored the tree to the ceiling "just in case", and we wound the lights from the top down (outlet on the ceiling!!!)

We had an amazing day!! Lil was such a happy, social girl. All the relatives were just thrilled by her smiles and shrieks. She is the first baby in my extended family in 16 years and it is just amazing what her presence has done for our family!

We loved it! Livi is only 8 weeks old, so she wasn't that involved, but we still had a great time. She slept while DH and I opened all her presents.
She is already such a spoiled baby! We can't wait for next year when she can open her own!

That is so sweet.

Our babe is only 2 and a half months so he pretty much had no clue. But it was still wonderful to have him here to celebrate with us. And his big brother got a real kick out of showing his baby brother all of his cool new toys.
