Background info before the issue: DS sleeps in his crib next to us so that his crib is a modified side car attachment. At least once most nights, he'll sleep with us for a couple of hours b/c I zonk out while nursing. I can easily handle nursing 2x's a night. However, here is an example of last night, DS nursed at 8:30,12:30, 1:30, 3:30, 4:30, 8:30. I don't think this is a growth spurt since he isn't nursing more frequently during the day. He usually eats every 2 hours during the day and he may have one stretch where he goes 2.5-3 hours. He gets pureed something for dinner (zucchini, peaches, etc). Last night has been occurring with ever greater frequency from the nights of nursing at 2:30, 4:30, 7:30. I just can't handle only the hour in between nursing sessions. I tried giving him a pacifier out of desperation at 1:30, but it didn't work. Suggestions? Or am I doomed for the next 12 months?

Hmm, my daughter is 18 months and I still have nights like that. Sorry that isn't helpful at all - but you aren't alone.

I will say that I am better able to deal with it now, you kind of develop a way to get rest around that crazy nursing schedule. Are you able to nap during the day? At 12 months I was napping almost every day and I think it is much more important to nap than to clean the house or "get stuff done."

I have been there too... I remember ds was around 7 mo and one night he woke up 12 times in 12 hrs.... aarrrrggghhhhh

I think I chalked it up to teething, or he was just learing to crawl around that time too and he loves to get up in the middle of the night and practice his new skills

This will pass, mama. My ds is now 17 months and getting up 1-2 times a night. That I can handle. Nap when you can and take as much help as people will give you!

mama!
I think it tends to ebb and flo. I remember back in April Rivka went down to 1 waking and I thought I was home free! A week later she was back to 4x a night :sigh: She's 13 months old and last night she slept from 11 - 6 for the first time ever. She's up 2 - 3 times a night usually. This too shall pass.
