Hello, mamas:

I checked out Planet at our Wild Oats yesterday. I thought the powdered version was pretty expensive at $10.99, and for only 20 loads. However, I remember that for cloth diapers you use half or even a quarter the amount. Please help me be cost-effective and tell me how much Planet detergent you use at each CD wash and how long it lasts you?

Also, if you use liquid, how does it compare? I heard the powdered version is tougher on stains, and I can imagine I will need that power to clean poopy diapers

Thanks!

Drugstore.com carries it for a little cheaper than that. I think there are specials when you place an order over a certain amount you get free shipping.

I have not started using CDs yet and have that like saved incase I don't like Allens that I can buy at the local health food store. So I don't know what to tell you about how much to use. I did read on Pinstripes and Polka dots that the liquid is better for top loaders.

Yay! They started carrying Country Save (at my request) at the health food store about a mile from my house, so I bought it on the spot today! $15.99 for 80 loads, but using half of that would be 160 loads

It's $5.99 for 20 loads at my HFS, - 10% members discount every 3 months, but I actually get 60 loads from it.....

So maybe 2-3Tbs per load?

I use about a 1/4-1/2 of an inch in the green scoop that comes in the powder Planet. We have semi hard water and it is working really well. Defently get more thent he 20 loads this way but honeslty I can't tell you exactly how many I do get. Personally I like the powder better then the liquid it seems to get the diapers cleaner and it seems to last longer, but that may be partly because I find it's easier to measure a smaller amount with the powder then the liquid personally.
