I've been told I should drink 8, 8 oz glasses of water a day, normally. But while pregnant, it should be more. I've also been told that for every 10 pounds overweight, you should drink an additional 8 oz of water. Well, I know I'm overweight, but that would be an extra 6 glasses of water a day!
So, anyone know for sure?

I'm overweight and pregnant and while I don't have a set amount I drink I try to make sure that my pee is a light yellow. I figure that watching what my output is is the best way to gauge my input. Right now that means (if I'm outside at all during the day in the 100 heat) about 90 oz of the combination of liquids - EmergenC, water and RRL/Nettle iced tea. If I'm home all day doing just indoor stuff 65-70oz seems to do it. I drink about 75% of my liquids as straight water then drink the rest as I see the need for it.

I have been taking Maternal Symmetry, and I can't tell wether I am drinking enough water or not, since my pee is always kinda dark. I dehydrate easily usually, so I take more water than most. Since I suffer from migranes I have to keep up with my water intake.
I pay attention to my lips too, I don't know if that is a good way to know, but if my lips are dry and chapped, I take it as a sign that I am dehydrated.

I just drink when I am thirsty, and I pretty much drink only water. Most days I also have a glass of seltzer with a bit of juice and a small cup of coffee or tea.

I'd say it amounts to about eight 12 ounce glasses of fluid a day, most days. But it's hot here, and I'm knee-deep in several hours of manual labor every day (home improvement projects). I'm 25 weeks and I drink more now than I did early on, and I also pee more.
