I am a little confused. I thought I read that a man should not ejaculate for three days before ttc. If dh has a high sperm count, how often can we have sex? Every day? Wait three days before I think I am going to ovulate? Multiple times a day?

I would rather just have a bunch of sex and hope to get lucky. Does anyone know the answer to this? Thank you so much for any help you can offer! I want to get started right NOW! I am sure you all know the feeling

I have always read that if the sperm count is fine than BD as much as possible. We try to go for every day with fertile CM and twice with a + OPK.

Well, when we DTD to have our 7mo DD, we figured out when I was O'ing, he didn't ejaculate for three days ahead of time, and we went like rabbits for the entire 'window of opportunity'. We figured it was a good balance of quality and quantity *Grin*

The cycle I conceived I went at it 2-3 times per day during my fertile window.

DTD more often can lower sperm count, but it is also supposed to increase individual sperm health. So, while there may be less of them, the ones you get are healthy and rarin' to go!

HAHAHAHAHA Yeah I hear ya!

Let me just say it was a stretch to get it 1-2x a day at 12 hour intervals (at best). By the end of the three day stretch there wasn't much romance or spark, just a whole lotta EFFORT LOLOLOLOL

It was definitely a labor of love

Just shows that everyone is so very different.

When we were dating and thinking about getting married, I told dh that it was not normal to have sex four times a day. He was shocked. He said he was not sure then if he would ever get married.

So, four times a day is preferable to him if he does not have to work. Maybe once or twice if he has a long day... but weekends are good.

Also, he is just 32 and I am 29, so I am not sure if that makes a difference.

Also, just have to add that I know it is different when you have been trying for a few months. We have never done that so I know sex could turn into something very different for us. For now, he is just grateful that I am willing, and to be honest, I want it the most when I think it could lead to a baby. So I am WAY more willing to do it several times a day than I normally would. Normally, it is 2-3 times/week.

Our doc said with a normal sperm count, DTD every other day, and then if you're able to predict, the day of ovulation, and resume every other day. It keeps the fresh sperm rebuilding, so to speak, without overdoing it and lowering the sperm count.

My hubby is in his 40s so that's just right for us. At a minimum though, every other day in the fertile period or you risk not hitting ovulation day.

I dated a guy who wanted it much MORE than THAT! Insanity.

My DH could go once a day, sometimes on rare occasions it's twice. Normally (outside of the fertile window) things occur 2-3 times a week, but during the fertile window it gets crazy in this house.

On our honeymoon there was so much going on that I didn't even want to touch him for a couple weeks. Which sucked because the week after the honeymoon was O week and I had to anyway. We were both so mechanical that week lol, get it done, go go baby vibes, bleh don't touch me
