I am almost always with DS, the only exception being times like this, when he is asleep in our bed in the middle of the night & has actually de-latched from my boob. So, occassionally I get up & have a little 'puter time or journal (shold journal more but Trading Post is so tempting
). DS is not rolling yet & I can hear him easily if he stirs. He is sleeping with my DH in the bed & sometimes a cat @ the foot of the bed. It takes alot for DS to rouse DH, but it's not him waking that I go in to check on, it's to make sure the cat hasn't curled up on him, or DH rolled on him, or he all of a sudden silently learned to roll & has made it to the end of the bed, or wedged himself in the timy crack between the cosleeper & the bed, etc, etc. Paranoid type stuff. So, I actually end up going back in every 10 or 15 minutes. Normal or paranoid?

Sounds normal to me. I do the same thing, and my oldest is three. I still wake up in the middle of the night nad have to check his breathing and make sure he is warm enough.

Gotta go check on the wee one now as I hear her squeaking in her bassinet!

Ditto for me. During the day, it's not worth it to me to put DS in his co-sleeper in the bedroom because I'm going in there every 5 minutes to check on him. So I just put him down next to me on the couch (and still pop my head in the LR every two minutes or so if I happen to go into another room). At night, luckily, DP is in charge and is a lighter sleeper than I am. Otherwise I would get no sleep at all from this constant checking!

My little guy seems to "know" when I'm getting ready to sit down to eat, or at the computer. I find if I put him in the sling and wear him, he snuggles in and goes to sleep, no fussing. Also, LOL, I can peek at him every 10 seconds to make sure he's still breathing! And you thought YOU were paranoid!

Totally normal. Now that Jakob is 7.5 months old I don't check on him quite as often, but I used to check on him every fifteen minutes. I would just get the urge that often and would have to go check. I still get the urge to check him every half hour or so, and from the other room I always now when he is awake even when he isn't making any noise..it's uncanny.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one to do this. When my oldest was a baby, there were times I would actually stand and watch him sleep. with Avery now, sometimes it is hard to see his chest moving as he breathes, so I've been known to mess with his hands to make him move a little (don't let my DH know that.). I would keep him in the sling all the time, except that I hurt my back last week, and the sling makes it hurt after a little while.
