I've been CDingfor 6 weeks now. I haven't noticed any absorbency issues, but I went to put vinegar in the rinse and noticed there were a lot of suds. So, how often do you all strip your diapers and what makes you strip them? Routine or noticing a problem?

I think it totally depends on your water and what your normal wash routine is as to how often you need to strip. I personally have stripped my diapers once. But we have very normal water (not hard at all) and I use sensiclean as the only detergent for diapers, with an extra hot wash with no detergent at all.

I do it the easy way

For cotton or hemp diapers - several very hot washes with no detergent, checking each time during the rinse cycle to see if there are still suds

For pockets - hand wash your diaper with your regular dish soap (gets the oils out), add a bit of dish soap to the fleece, either rub the fleece vigorously together or use a medium bristle dish brush or hard bristle tooth brush to scrub the fleece. Turn inside out and repeat on this side. Rinse very well until the water runs clear

if you already washed 7x it may be a problem other than build up. what are you using?

maybe the soap build up is in the washing machine - no the diapers?

tide free? that's what i use too - and no problems. hmm... After 7 washes, you really should have gotten all of the soap out. maybe try cleaning out your washing machine. I bet the bubbles are coming from there - not the diapers
That has happened to me before.. sometimes detergent builds up in the machine (usually pretty high up).

it's worth a shot! good luck =)

I stripped them once a couple years ago when I was using massive amounts of soap (I didn't know any better!) ...now I use sportwash, sometimes a little tide, and I don't have any smell problems, or any other problems, so I don't....why do some people do it regularly?? I wouldn't do it unless it seemed needful.
