It's just DH, myself and our 2 yr old. I shoot for cleaning it once a week; tub, toilet, mirror, counter and floor. We have 2 bathrooms but we rarely use our second one so this one is used frequently. I know that sometimes I don't pay attention and more than a week goes by without me cleaning it. : I'm writing myself a weekly cleaning schedule and was wondering if I should clean it more often. What do you guys think?

I keep a rolled up cloth diaper behind the water faucet and I ask that everyone wipe the faucet/basin when they are done washing hands. I keep some spray and will spray the counters/mirrors as needed when I notice it. The bathtub gets scrubbed every week or so, as needed. We all four use one bathroom. The master bath is "just for looks" or to use when we have company, because it's too hard to clean two bathrooms.

I do toilets once a week, sinks get wiped out daily or every two days, and the bathtubs get a real cleaning every other week. They get wiped down a bit every couple days though. I sweep and mop the floors just as needed.

I clean out the toilets every day or two because since the girls PL they need it. I wipe down the sink when I think of it, and clean it 1x a week or so. We won't discuss the last time I cleaned the tub or shower : although I try to wipe down the shower when I use it.

THanks, ladies. I feel better. It was really hard to clean anything when DS was a baby but since he's a toddler I can actually clean now, no excuses...and then he makes a new mess.

twice a week seems ideal (not that i do it that much, but I would shoot for twice a week)

Once a week unless one of my boys has particularly bad aim one day or something, which happens about every other week... then as needed .

We only have one bathroom, that helps. That's the positive side to 7 people and one bathroom, only one room to clean. I don't have to spell out the negatives, do I?

I try really hard to do the Flylady swish and swipe daily. When I work on the weekends, it falls by the wayside a bit.

I have little basket beside the toilet containing a natural bathroom surface cleaner, my vinegar glass cleaning solution, air freshener for those times when you really need to do some business but someone else needs the bathroom immediately after, and daily shower cleaner. I try to stick a rag or two in it as well. That way, it's all there, and when I get a second, I can do a quick clean. Takes maybe three minutes.

About once/week, I do a more thorough toilet clean. About once/ten days, I do a top to bottom whole bathroom clean.

Kind of once a week, but not on a schedule. Mostly happens when it's starting to look grimy or I've noticed the toilet or handbasin really needs cleaning sooner and then the rest get done at the same time - only takes a couple of minutes. I often do it while the kids have their bath rather than making special time to do it too.

This is so true! I remember the days of being able to wash the bathrooms regularly. I even did it the day before my 4th was born. Now I really feel lucky just to get to use the bathroom in peace, never mind clean it.

Am actually considering getting a service in every two weeks b/c it overwhelms me so. : Just for the bathrooms (we have three) and the kitchen floor. There is apparently one in the city that uses all natural cleaners.

I keep a bottle of vinegar and water under the cabinet (tiny bottle), and a cloth. I just clean it when I see spots. The toilet gets a soak'n'scrub (borax and the brush, hehe) when I see that ugly ring start to appear.

I also make sure everything is okay if company is coming over. Other than that I don't think about it.

I'm bad about the tub. I only do my tub when I start seeing dirty rings around the waterline when DD takes a bath.

With two boys (8 and 10) who don't always aim well, the bathrooms have a good clean once a week. But they each take a bathroom! They clean the toilets and everything but the shower weekly, and as needed. The toilet downstairs which gets used the most often needs a cleaning or two mid-week.

I have bathroom "issues" -- I reallyreally like a clean bathroom, and it totally grouses me out to clean it

I wipe the counter at least once a day and run the mop about once a week. Toilet gets wiped down a lot because some of the men in my house (boys) don't know how to aim very well. Bathtub doesn't get clean as much as it should because it gives me heebie jeebies to do it and my husband doesn't seem to think it ever needs to be done.

No matter how much I clean the bathroom it never feels clean to me.

Full on scrub once a week. Tidy spills as they happen.

Ignore "the man bathroom" in the back of the house. I won't go in there. It is his job to deal with it.

I clean the toilet and tub when it starts to look dirty. give or take 2 weeks. I usually wipe the counter right before a load of laundry so I can just toss the washcloth in the load.
We have 2 bathrooms, but 1 is used mostly as a laundry room to hang Dh's work clothes before they get ironed.

I am FASCINATED at how many people clean the sink more often than the toilet!

We had this rule in a share house. The downstairs toilet was boy/visitor/party territory and I went nowhere near it ever.

Until eventually you could smell it from the kitchen and I collared the housemate whose job it was to clean it. He said "I have no idea why it smells, I put bleach in it every couple of days". Yep, he had no idea you needed to clean anything other than the inside of the bowl uke
