How old were you when you had your first child? How many do you have? When did you start t-ing-t-c? Are you planning on trying again?

I'm 29, with no children yet
and i really want to start a family and have many children. (well as many as DH and i can) Feeling its a little late in the game to have the big 4 (which is what i'd really love to have) right now, anyway!

27 when he was born, 26 when I got pregnant. There was no TTC stage involved, he was my surprise baby.

I'm trying for #2 at 34, wouldn't be born 'til I'm 35.

ETA - I m/c at 28, but I had no idea anything was amiss (I had an IUD which expelled itself as part of the process). No grief for me, just shock and surprise.

You have lots of time. I didn't even start TTC my first until I was 34. Had her at 35, another at 36 and I am on baby #3 at almost 42. I definitely could have squeezed another one in between this one and DC #2, there will be a 5.5 year age difference.

That said, there's no time like the present!

Good luck!

I'm officially feeling a lot better!!!
Vegan, did you conceive naturally with all?
I truly thank you guys for your response. I'm @ work and just feel like balling bc of all everyone shares here!
(little emo, ey?) Anyway, I'm not crazy,,,this is just such an emotional journey for anyone and I feel like I cannot share with many of my friends as they already have children already, and I don't want to bog them down with my worries in ttc since they had no trouble.

Thank YOU again!!!

Good luck to you all as well!!!

You have plenty of time to make a big family! I was 32 when my DS was born. I'm now 33 and we are starting to think about DC #2!

I have MANY good mama friends that didn't even start their families until after 35... in some circles, this is the norm!

I think you still have plenty of time to have four. I have four, and while I started a bit younger, they were all born two years apart -- so within 6 years. And you could totally space them out farther than that and still have enough time.

Mine were born when I was 21, 23, 25 and 27 years old. Hoping for #5 in the near future.

that made me giggle.

I got pregnant my first month trying when I was 24. I miscarried at 8 weeks. It took me a year to get pregnant with DS1. Then I got pregnant after 2-3 cycles with DS2 and I was 27 when I had him. I'm 28 now and TTC

I haven't gotten pregnant yet (just started trying), but FWIW, if it works in the next few months I'll be 24 at conception and 25 when the baby is born.

And I agree with PPs who said you've got time for 4 if that's what you are wanting. Both my mom and my husband's mom had kids after 35 with no issues whatsoever. Obviously that's not always the case, but it's definitely possible.

Well I got started early
I got pregnant at 17 with ds...had him when I was 18...he was planned..I know it was not the smartest thing to do when your 17
but my now *ex-husband* who was 27 at the time talked me into it.

Skip Ahead 10 years......

I am currently 28 ..soon to be 29 and ttc #2 with dbf who is 27..lmao
...sorry I just relized that both of my babies daddies are/were 27 at the time .

We are planning on getting married in the fall but want a big family
he has no children of his own) so we are getting started right away.

i will be 34 next month and do not have children yet. I hope to TTC this year. I was hoping to avoid the "advanced maternal age"
but I do not know if that will happen.

I've always wanted 4, too.

I had my first at 24.

I started ttc again at 25, almost 26.
One m/c at 29.
Second m/c at 30.
Third m/c at 32.

Had dd at 34.
Had ds2 at 37.

We lost my fourth during labour in 2007...I was 39.

I'm currently 40, and pregnant again. My fourth living baby should arrive just after I turn 41.

I'm the cautionary tale.... I'm only 25 and on Clomid/starting to explore IUI and IVF because of issues with TTC #1. If you don't already, I can't stress enough how great charting your cycles is (that's how I got assistance w/the meds so early in the game- I had solid documentation to show my OB-GYN.) Not only will charting help you get a head start for when you are ready to TTC, it will help you become more in-tune with your body.

Well I currently have 3 and we are TTC #4 (our last
). Anyway my ages were :
22 w/ my ds

23 w/ my dd

25 w/ my yds

and if we are able to have a 2010 baby I'll be 27.

All were planned and we knew we wanted them close together. There is 17 months between my first two and 19 months between 2nd & 3rd. There will be a slightly bigger gap ( 2 years ) between 3rd & 4th because nursing this time around prolonged PPAF longer than usual. Anyway it is possible to have 4 in a shorter number of years if you can handle a bunch of little ones at once

I was 22 when my first was born, 24 when her sister came along, and hope to have another before I am 27. I had planned to start a family in my early thirties, but the right guy came along, and our first was a surprise, but then we realized how much we loved being parents.

I am the odd one out in my 'original' circle of friends, and with my 'mommy' friends. In my old circle, very few of us are married, let along starting families, and with my mommy friends, most started having families after they had established their careers. In one group, I am the old lady, and in the other group, I am the youngster!

Thank you ALL for sharing!!!!

I see we all have different experiences when ttc. Its nice to know i still have time even if i want a big family.

There IS no time like the present.

We will keep trying.

When I get AF, I will start charting. Up until now, I was only paying attention to CM and feelings. That hasn't worked, so I will start charting.

Thank you ALL again!!!
