How soon do you tell people that you're pregnant? Also, how will you tell?

I'm ready to tell as soon as I feel symptoms, though my husband would rather wait. I was hoping for a cute way of doing so, especially since this is most certainly going to be the last, but just haven't come up with anything creative yet.

14 weeks, and a video post/email, or FaceTime (for close family).

Of family, most probably won't be thrilled for us.

I'm torn. My entire family is actually all in the same state right now. So it might be fun to tell them all in person. But then part of me thinks that it is too early. I told my husband he can tell his mom whenever he wants- but so far he is keeping it quiet.

I did buy a tee shirt that says "big sister" for my daughter. I figure if we do catch up with my family while everyone is fairly local (my two sisters live in other states) I'll throw it on her and just wait for people to notice.

If not then- then I will probably wait till 2nd trimester.

Although April fools could be another fun one. That is when we announced my daughter. But I was like 12 weeks then and will only be 7 and some change this tine.

I'm keeping it pretty quiet for a while. A few close friends know, and my SIL but that's it. Not ready to my in-laws yet because last time MIL instantly became extremely overbearing and did some infuriating things. My parents are not in our lives anymore so I won't be telling them at all but I'm sure they'll hear once it's public. We may announce in May. Probably tell ILs on the phone first and then just do a Facebook announcement for anyone else. Last time we did a cute photo.

I haven't told anyone except my husband and our midwife, lol. We'll have our first appointment at 7 weeks but we won't hear a heartbeat yet... should I wait to tell after I hear the heartbeat? All my family is out of the country, any ideas?

We generally wait for 12 weeks to tell immediate family, then work, then just everyone. But we might do earlier this time, because we'll be visiting Spain around that time and I really do not want to announce in person (or pretend nothing is going on, which is what I did last time, and I ended up coming across as rude apparently because I needed to nap with my son). So we'll probably announce the first week of May, whatever that corresponds to.

Whatever you feel most comfortable with, there's no right or wrong answer. We enjoy the period of time when it's a secret and something precious only me and my husband know (and my BFF, and my DDC from my first pregnancy lol), but not everyone does. You can also do something intermediate and tell those close to you, but don't make it Facebook official yet (which is what I did with my first because I didn't want to go totally public with it till I told my manager and for some reason everything always kept happening and kept having to cancel our one on ones for like a month)
