: I was at the Salvation Army Store today and found a couch for our new home that we are moving into on Saturday. It's exactly what I wanted - buttery soft camel corduroy, relaxed style, and $120. It's from Bloomingdales ... says so on the label. Yeah baby! The cushion covers are removable so I think I'm going to wash them. What soap should I use? I'd like to clean the arm rests and dust skirt, too. Any suggestions on how to do that? Should I see if a friend at church has a Green Machine?

TIA and I promise to post pictures once it's cleaned up.

Sounds like a great find! When we got our "new" couch I washed the cushion covers in the washer with plain old laundry detergent, and I clean the couch body with a Rug Doctor, rented at the supermarket. IRRC it comes with a small attachment that is just the right size.
