Day time ec with my 14 month old son is going so great right now, with words, cueing, signing, and lots of ease. I want to seize the moment and try to make the leap to night time ec too.
Night sleep is alternately crazy hard or comparably easy, with a dry diaper this morning, and only 3 nursing wake-ups last night. I just have not been well enough rested to give nighttime ec more than a passing chance til now, but I think the daytime is going so well that nighttime practice might be the key to better sleep too. We co-sleep.
I want to try it by going naked at night, because:
1) that's the way we learned best about day time cues
2) I'm still not well rested and if I have to wake up enough to check something that holds all the wet in, it is less likely to happen
3) I just received a pile of wool blankets so I really could let lots of pee happen in bed without a laundry disaster
4) son is still such an easy waker that it would be easier to peel off a layer of under-blanket than to change a diaper-like thing
SO: what do I do about the night time pees that go up????? (never mind to the side...)
It's hard to keep a blanket or other pee-catching cover on this wiggley boy, and it's too cold to go blanketless all night. Do I turn the humidifier on high and crank the heat and have us all uncovered? Do I invent some kind of belted groin flap that will stay in place and change out easily? Did you already invent this wheel?
Mothers of sons, help me out!
