I have a homeopathic tincture I'd like to give to my 4.5 month old baby. It's in an alcohol base. Can I place it in warm water in an effort to dissipate the alcohol? Will warm water effect the effectiveness of the remedy?

Homeopathic Tinture? What remedy what potency and for what ailment?
A wet dose is always better than a dry dose, because then the succussions can be regulated to alter the potency.

Ok, I know how specific homeopathy is and I should have known better than to be so vague.

The med is Oto-Plex, homeopathic ear ache medication. It is manufactured by Weber & Weber in Germany.

Label says:
Active ingredients:
100 ml contains: Echinacea purpurea tincture7.5 ml, chamomilla recutita tincture 2.25ml, Sambucus ***** tincture 2.25 ml, Capsicum annuum 4x 0.75ml, Hydrastis canadensis 4x 0.75ml, lodum 4x 0.75ml, Mercurius cyanatus 6x 0.75 ml, Sanguinaria canadensis tincture 1x 0.75ml.

Inactive ingredient: Ethanol.

I have used this once with my older one and it worked wonderfully for her ear ache. I just dosed her again with it yesterday as she's had a minor cold with a cough and was complaining of her ear hurting.

Today the baby and I are sick. She has some nasal congestion indicated by sounding snuffly yet there is no discharge. She took a long nap, woke up crying, sounding hoarse between cries and fell asleep in my arms again and slept for another 45 minutes. Not like her to sleep like that. She's nursing well. If she has a fever, it's quite slight. I did give her some hepar sulf 30x.

Its great that you use homeopathics. But This is called a COMBINATION remedy,Polypharmacy not used by trained classical homeopaths, just so youknow. Its best to use only one rem. at a time. This way if it stops working after a while you know that the potency needs to be increased. How will you do this using so many remedies in one mix?

If you slowly increase your knowledge of the Materia medica of hom. remedies you wont need to rely on these combination remedies and you will find out they are in the long run worthless.
www.homeopathic.org
Has lots of easy to understand articles, good start.
For Chronic condition in no way is it possible to do a self prescribing, for that please seek advice of a classical homeopath (directory in the link)

yes, I know that multi remedies are called combination remedies. I'm sick too so my head is fuzzy and Im NAK and now holding a sleeping baby.

I got this from our family practitioner who is very very alternative. She is familiar with homeopathy but I know she's not a classically trained homeopath.

I have one in my vicinity that I just don't connect with. i need to find someone I mesh with and trust.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

I'm off to the family practitioner in the morning for a few reasons, I would like a peek in her ears and I don't have an otoscope. I should get one. I'm a dog groomer, they come in handy when cleaning dog's ears. And I just want to chart a visit with the dr. I live in a state with no parental vaccine exemption and I don't ever want to deal with an accusation of medical neglect based on my choices (homebirth, non vaxing, etc)
