I have one on my finger that I have had forever. I want it gone, but don't want to use any chemicals or pay for the doc visit. I am BF.
Anyone have any home remedies that work and are safe?

Hey, I didn't see this thread, just posted above about my son and his plantar wart. So i'll be peeking in to get ideas.

One thing I have heard of is using duct tape. I think you need to leave it on for a good week, if you google it, you can probably find out more. That's what I would try if my son would leave it alone for that long.

If you have dandelions in your yard you can put the white juice that you see on the end when you've picked one on a wart and it will help it go away. I did this with warts as a kid and it worked well. It will turn the wart brown but it does help as long as you put it on at least twice a day.

I was just coming to look for answers to this same question.

I had 2 warts - one on my thumb and one on the bottom of my foot. Both were froze off - but it really did not work. The one on my foot went away during the winter - I think socks and shoes helped to suffocate it. I've tried the duct tape thing but I can't keep it on long enough to work. So I'm looking for some new ideas, too!

I've heard that apple cider vinegar works. Apply it to a bit of cotton, then hold in place with a bandaid overnight, and keep it off during the day. After a few weeks, it's supposed to just fall right out (the wart, I mean). I have facial warts, and have tried this once but didn't get the cotton placed exactly right, and it left a seriously dry patch of skin just next to the wart. I haven't tried again.

My daughter had a wart on her index finger. I tried several remedies from the health food store and had mixed results.

What finally got rid of it was garlic. I took a clove of garlic and used special tape (it is also used for bandages) and taped the garlic to her wart over night. I forget how long it took to get rid of it, but eventually it worked!

Good luck!

raw potato has worked well for me every time. just take a sliver from right at the peel and put it with the potato side (as opposed to the peel side) against the wart. hold in place with a band-aid. you can change it daily or leave it on as long as you want. just keep potato on it for a few days in a row. once you remove it, it'll be a little while before anything happens with the wart (maybe a week +?)...then it'll start to fall off. it will probably get a little sore before it falls off.

B complex orally for a few weeks will get rid of it on the hands.

ETA - for plantar wart the thing that really worked for my grandson was THUJA (homeopathy) 3 globules 2 times a day for about 2 months.

Warts are weird. What works for one person might not work for someone else. I had a plantar wart for 18 years (seriously), and I tried EVERYTHING. Nothing worked except finally having it cut out.

Now I have a small one on my hand that I'm working on. I've tried potato, duct tape, garlic, etc., etc., and nothing's working. At least it isn't getting any bigger though.

I would suggest trying all the remedies above, sticking with each for a couple weeks or until you see some change/improvement, than move on to the next. You never know what'll do the trick.

OTC acid worked fine for my husband, but has never worked for me. Go figure.

OIL OF OREGANO! It will be gone in a few hours. It is the best best best for these types of things. Get a good one ( I use Joy of the Mountains brand) and follow instructions well. Cover with band aid to insure your son doesn't put finger in eye.

Are these remedies all for plantar warts? I have a couple on my leg, so they're not the rough ones that people get on their hands/feet - would these remedies work for them?
