Ds has an infection on his penis (long sotry, if you want to know more check my thread on the circ board). He seemed to be feeling a little better but woke up from his nap in obvious pain. I took his diaper off and it seems to make him feel a lot better. But I am trying to figure out how to let ds go diaperless without getting urine all over the place. He was starting to potty learn but he obviously will not sit on the potty now. I have him in a diaper right now stapped loosely. I asked him if he wanted to wear it and he said diaper and laid down for me to put it on. Before that I let him eat his afternoon snack in the highchair with a diaper underneath him. Any advice? I think the air would probably do him a lot of good.

i just let karina go diaperless when she has a bad rash, we have hardwood floors throughout.
or...i loosely pin a CPF on her and change as soon as it gets soiled.
hope he heals soon!

Be careful what you wish for.....

My ds is almost 3, and we can't get him to NOT be naked. He is naked right now *sigh*. Everytime he uses the potty, he believes his underpants are dirty - so he drops them and his pants in the hamper. He changes clothes 4+ times per day (learning to get himself dressed) and is still naked 1/2 of the day.

Someone start a post on getting a toddler dressed..:

I'd second the loosely pinned PF.

A few times DS's foreskin has looked a bit red and by pinning his PF loosely, using no cover and frequent soaks in the tub (no soap, just temperate water and sometimes some herbs) we've always been able to heal the irritation before it gets too bad.

If the weather was agreeable I would just spend lots of nakey time outdoors letting him fertilize the yard.

When it is hurting him it really truly hurts. He doesn't want anything touching his penis. But the bad pain today did not last a very long time so I may be able to let him run around naked when and if it hits again. When he is naked he usually pees in the potty or on the kitchen floor. I'm not above cleaning a little pee but I don't want it in the sofa, if ykwim. Hopefully things are a little better tomorrow.

Poor Billy. :-( I would also agree with the loose diaper changed very often. Or just maybe gate him off in the tiled part of your house and spend a few hours with him there.

Trish, that Totally Toddler stuff works well to get pee (and poop) out of carpet... ask me how I know this... :

I would just let him be naked and clean pee if it hurt him that bad. Can you keep him off the sofa easily? Or maybe put towels or sheets on it for a day or so?

I hear ya on the naked 3 yo's too.

Oh geez Em, I thought everyone knew about Totally Toddler! It's a stain remover/ enzyme thingie. I got it at Toys R Us. It's pretty cheap and smells nice (strong though). You can use it on beds and diapers and whatever. Sometimes I use it on dipes, but mostly just on pee on the carpet, lol.

You know Biokleen Bac Out would probably work well too on the carpet. TT is cheaper though.
