Ok, so you guys knew our whole house was pretty sick with the flu
last week. Well, Sunday, the poops and pukes started and I haven't
been able to keep anything down since then.
I have lost ten pounds. That can't be good.

Sunday night, I was sure that I was seriously dehydrated.
My muscles were all balled up real tight and I was hurting and could
barely get up out of bed to go to the bathroom.
Today's the first day I have actually been out of bed for more than
three hours.

I don't get the flu. I haven't been this sick in I don't know how long.
It's been at least since I was a teenager. This is ridiculous and I
think it's taking me longer to get over this since I'm pregnant.

I know a lot of you have had this go around your house. How long
did it take to fully recover? This has been going on for a week and a half
now.

Yeah, 2 weeks around here, too.
The boys (including hubby) are still occasionally coughing though at 2.5-3 weeks - like the last remnants of the bug that don't want to give up or something.

It couldn't have been the flu for us - we've done that before long ago, and none of the symptoms/complaints were even close. At least for us. I took to calling it a bizarre cross between the flu and whooping cough because it did have a few random symptoms of both. Blah.

So.... obviously now you have a nasty stomach bug.... but the flu going around your house for a week and a half... was that the "stomach flu" or the "influenza respiratory flu"?
We got the stomach bug at my house.... I had puking and pooping for 48 hours, then was ok, but DH had just pooping for a week. I'm not sure which was worse! It was tough to be doing both at the exact same moment with a huge belly in front of me (also pulled stomach and back muscles doing it!), but I don't think I could've taken diarrhea for a week....

I keep getting confused when people say they have the flu. The flu (influenza, the one they vaccinate for) is the respiratory kind. BUT when I was growing up, and even now, a lot of people say they have the flu when they have a stomach bug. So it's throwing me off. Just curious which one you mean.... I have some people I work with that have the respiratory flu, and are working on over 2 weeks now (one has been bumped up to pneumonia).

Hope you start feeling better! Stay hydrated (yeah, I know it's tough when NOTHING stays in)

Well, I'm "guessing" it's some type of flu because it hit
me like a ton of bricks and sinus infections don't
do me this way.
For a week it was sinus stuff. Cough, stuffy head, headache.
Then Sunday the puking and the water-diarrhea started.

So I don't know what the heck this all is. Like I said,
I don't get like this. I don't get the flu, I don't get stomach
bugs. Sinus stuff is about all I get. But this is crazy. I actually
ate a piece of toast today. So at least I kept that down.

I always heard if you feel "achy" then it's probably a type
of flu. And I did definitely feel that way.

Definitely COULD be the flu, followed by a horrendous stomach bug that seems to be sweeping the country. Plus, it seems like even people who don't usually get sick are getting this year with one or the other. You, unfortunately, seem to have gotten both. I feel so bad for you! DS happened to miss out on the stomach thing (knock on wood) but started coughing a really dry, hacking cough last night. So far no call from daycare yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's the only symptom he gets.

Oh, and yes, when I got the flu, I had awful body aches. But then again, I got that this year from being dehydrated and puking.... yucko!

Oh that sounds completely miserable! We had the influenza-respiratory flu (no barfing or diarrhea) at our house... it took my husband about 1.5 weeks to feel better. Today is 3 weeks since we came down with it and I've still had a lingering secondary sinus infection that is bad enough that I need to take some tylenol to get through the day. I started feeling decent around 2 weeks though.

Get your husband to make you some miso soup for you.

Hope you feel better soon!

Our house was 2 weeks each. But we all got it at different times. So it was a month to get it completely out of the house! And in that time I managed to get it a second time.
My immune system is literally crap when I'm pregnant.

I'm loading up on probiotics, ginger, aloe vera, and olive leaf so I
hope this helps my stomach. I'm not puking anymore, but
I'm still having bathroom issues and I really don't have an
appetite. I'm hoping this goes completely away this weekend.
