I am nearing the end of my apprenticeship and although I am excited to be nearly "done" I am sad about not working with my preceptor any more. Even after I have my CPM I will likely continue to attend births with her for even more experience. We work so well together I would love to figure out a way to run a joint practice. I would love your opinions and stories about why this worked or didn't work etc. Some info- -There are 7 midwives that serve a population of about 100,000 people. -I will license(can carry pit etc. but cant do breeches twins) while my preceptor will not license -Average client load of 4 per month-hopefully more when I am finished -Fee is $2000 -We both get very attached to our clients so missing births during "time off" wouldn't work for either of us very well. How have you all made similar situations work? TIA

Looking forward to reading responses. I really enjoy attending births with another midwife and could definitely see myself in a joint practice.
