<p>Three years ago I bought an organic mattress and also an organic wool pad to put on it to protect it from leaks from DS's diaper.  He is not night time trained yet and still has occasional leaks from his night dipe.  My wool pad is not cutting it and I am desperate to save my investment in my mattress.  I have tried a folded towel under the wool pad and another on top directly under where he sleeps, but he occasionally rolls off the pile of towels and he also will still occasionally soak through all of it to my mattress.  Thankfully it has only happened two or three times, but the last time it left a stain.    I really would like to save my mattress, and keep it a healthy bed, but at this point, I am seriously considering just putting down a garbage bag under our sheets.  Help!</p>

<p>Oh, and last night I realized that he had leaked through at nap time and I never even noticed and my wool pad now smells like ammonia.  I took it off and draped it over some furniture in my bedroom to dry.  I am not sure what to do with it at this point.  I don't think I can wash it, but it is still a little stinky. </p>

<p>I have a thick wool blanket that I double up to protect the mattress from DS's pee.  It works really well even on the nights he was trying to go without a diaper and wet the bed.  It sounds like you might need a new diaper I have 4 of these and they are fantastic.  I've never had them leak.  <a href="https://usshop.motherease.com/shopexd.asp?ID=22" target="_blank">https://usshop.motherease.com/shopexd.asp?ID=22</a> They are super thick.</p>

<br><p>We have waterproof mattress covers on all the mattresses at this time ... my oldest kids due to the possibility of night accidents and ours because we have a cosleeper in with us.  Maybe not the most natural choice, but imho it is a better choice than replacing a mattress from any perspective.</p>

<p>Under our wool protector, I used one of those crib protector things that's fuzzy on both sides with a waterproof layer on the inside.  It's not natural, but reduces my stress level a lot. </p>

<p>I use a piece of cloth waterproof material from Joanne's. I bought a couple yards and cut it down to the size I needed. Works PERFECTLY and NEVER leaks!</p>
