Okay, I have stinky feet. How do I keep the odor out of my sandals? I try to start with clean feet, I use a tea tree oil/peppermint spray on my feet and on the sandals, and still my sandals have a funk. So that even when I start with clean feet (so as not to make the sandals stink), the sandals make my feet stink. Any cleaning deodorizing tips?? BTW, my birks are the kind with the synthetic uppers as well as footliner (some kind of microfiber.) My new Tevas are starting to get the smell, too. They have some kind of soft lining under the foot, not just plain rubber which would probably be easier to clean.
Thanks for any help!!

My Tevas get really funky. I scrub them with an old toothbrush & Dr. B's peppermint soap & then leave them in the sun to dry. I've also started leaving them on the porch in the sun (instead of in the house) when I'm not wearing them. I swear the uv light helps.

When my sandals are getting nasty, I put baking soda in them, absorbs and neutralizes the odor. Ifyou put a light dusting in them every night, it would probably work better.

I've heard that coffee grounds work really well for deoderizing sneakers, so that would probably work for other footwear too.

Just sprinkle a few spoonfuls of dry coffee grounds in the shoes and leave them like that over night (or longer). Somehow it gets rid of the funk, and your shoes don't actually end up smelling like a Starbucks either.

I haven't tried it, but a few different people have told me it works wonders.

Another vote for baking soda. I sprinkle in a good cover & leave them on our porch overnight. In the morning I just shake out the bs and I am good to go.
