In NT, she says whey keeps for 6 months... but before I use that jar of whey in the back of my fridge, how can I tell if it's still good?

I can tell you that it can be horribly obvious if it's bad It took me a few minutes to recover from the odor when I took the lid off the jar.

Yeah- the smell will totally tell you. Good=pleasantly sour/fermented scent, bad=strong rancid sour scent.

Mine only lasts a month or so, I think because I don't strain the milk solids out well enough.
