<div style="font-style:italic;">that really covers it, i think i have a good length but i don't know how wide it should be.<br>
i read about 30' but that see,s really wide<br>
I think stretchies are about 20 and wovens about 30. Not sure though...
It also depends upon what you want to use it for; what positions. A woven can probably get away with being narrower? I have done some super narrow - how wide is a bolt? I divided lengthwise and hemmed and got 2 wraps out of my yardage. Wider does mean it can go further up baby's back.
I made a 20" and a 30". I'll let you know which I prefer, but the baby isn't due for 4 more months <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">
I think between 24-28inches is good. I have a few DIY wraps that are made of crinkle cotton and most of them are right around 25inches and they work Great with my 2 year old. I have had them since she was 8mo old and they worked well then. hth
