I posted about this in Green Living, but didn't get any responses. We have well water, so I don't want to pour it down the sink. Should I pour it on the ground somewhere, and if so what kind of spot should I choose? How would you go about it. I have left over Bactrim, Amoxicilin, and Augmentin. My DD1 was sick for a long time, and they prescribed too much for the dose periods each time.

I don't know what the process is there, but here in WI you have to bring your medications in to a local semi-annual medication round-up. It's free and it is sponsored by the county. It's a separate place from our regular trash and recycling drop-off (we don't have curb side collection where we live). Perhaps check with your county waste collection people?

I'd take them back to a pharmacy or check with your local health department. I could be wrong, but I don't think you *EVER* want to pour antiboticis down the drain, irregardless of where you live - they inevitably end up int he water supply and contribute to antibiotic resistance from what I've read.
