So...here's how NOT to make them. Don't forget that your husband is over 6 feet tall and is ALL leg, and then buy only 1 yard of each color. Should you do that, you will have to change the gift from PJ pants to PJ shorts.

And once you have cut out your pieces and laid them out on the fabric taking great pains to match the grain, don't overlook the fact that your pattern is laying on the fabric the wrong way, so that everything (writing, designs, logos) on your cut fabric piece is UPSIDE DOWN.

And most importantly, after you purchase a replacement piece of fabric, DO check that the pieces are going to match up to your desired design of one leg of one color, and the other leg of another.... I did catch the last one before I cut!

I think they turned out pretty spiffy, though. And they will be rolled up and tucked into the basket along with Sumo Glue, Maple Candy, roasted almonds, and some Weight Watchers blueberry bars that hubby was eyeing last week....

Here are the pajama shorts: flickr photo

Sounds like you sew like I do. My problem seems to be in making sure the pattern pieces are all from the same size pattern?

You did a great job though!

What is super sad is that I have been sewing since I was 10. (Which is about *cough*20*cough* years.)

And I was SOOOO anal about lining it up the first time. Whoops.

And, uh, sorry about the eye-blindingly bright yellow. It's John Deere Yellow and maybe you can just feel sorry for me that my dining room/sewing room is decorated entirely with tractors in bright green and yellow?
