Hi, I'm Amanda, recently preggo with my third babe (EDD 4-22 - Earth Day!). I have a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son, both born with a midwife at a birth center after 4-hour hurricane labors! I'm hoping this one will be at least that long too, to give me enough time to get to the birth center! (It's 40 minutes from our house -- I was petrified of having a side-of-the-road birth the second time around, but luckily my water held off on breaking until we got to the center, and he was born 15 minutes later!)

Both previous pregnancies I dealt with early (as in started at 16 weeks) and constant contractions, which lasted throughout the entirety of both pregnancies. Second pregnancy they put me on bedrest for them for a couple weeks. No fun! DD was born at 37 weeks, DS was born at 36. Hopefully this baby won't come any earlier!

My challenge this time around is that I was diagnosed with a peptic ulcer a week before my BFP. So I'm trying to figure out how to manage that without taking drugs that could be bad for the babe. Anyone else out there deal with this?

Looking forward to sharing this journey with this bunch of wonderful mommas!

Congrats and welcome!

Also as a mama who has had a super fast birth too, I was wondering if you had considered having a homebirth instead? Then you would be trying to ride in the car while in active labor. There is a great homebirth forum on MDC, you should check it out

Welcome! Our wedding anniversary is on Earth Day too! I can't decide if I'm hoping for a slightly late baby to have it on the same day or wanting to keep that "our day". (Oh, and the Earth's of course... )
