I'm purging wildly right now, and occasionally, the decision of whether or not to keep something is agonizing. We're planning to move next spring/summer maybe to the northwest or maybe travel in an RV. So, part of the purging is because we need to downsize in general. Part of it is throwing out the excess clutter that we have accumulated so our house can be peaceful.

So, we have this humidifier. It's "the care free evaporative humidifier" from Hunter. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2630422

We've had it for at least 3 years ... used it for a few months, but I'm not sure exactly why. DH has allergies and we use an air filter - I think we added the humidifier when he or a DD was sick. Not sure if it worked or not - we were probably just doing "something". Mostly, though, we don't have many issues with being sick in our family (knock on wood).

I just need to know the pros & cons of having a humidifier and whether or not THIS one is worth keeping.

thanks
We just bought that one last week for DS' croup. I think it helped, but it also helped activate the mold in our apartment carpet. We'll keep it and likely use it again when we move.

I had a humidifier 4 years ago for myself (strange problems with dry mouth and eyes). I free-cycled it.

If you need it for illness, you can always go into a steamy shower...
