My 14 1/2 month old is constantly wanting to nurse. I am not kidding you, almost non stop. She is not teething either. I feel like I spend more time nursing now than I did when she was an infant. Is this normal?

It doesn't help I am PMSing and very uncomfortable with her leaning and pushing on my stomach. So much so I am going to be physically ill.

Suggestions? This has been going on for about two weeks now. I am getting resentful.

What really helped us at this age was having a few "nursing spots." Sarabeth could have "nursies" in a particular comfy chair, or upstairs. This meant that if she really wanted to nurse, she had to stop what she was doing, and nurse. Otherwise, it was on and off every 5 minutes for hours on end... driving poor me crazy. She still got to nurse when she wanted/needed to, but it helped her focus on what she really wanted at that moment.

I think at a year + kids are fascinated by the idea that they can decide what to do/where to go... and they exercise this. Totally normal developmentally, but it can definitely take its toll on mama!

I have even tried putting her off for awhile just to give me a break. She screams her head off, like she will never eat again. OH my!
