Stupid server!<br><br>
A few questions:<br>
When was your last menstrual period? Was it regular?<br>
Are you nursing?<br>
Is there any unusual odor? Clotting?<br>
Is the flow lighter or heavier than your regular period?<br>
Is it possible you were pregnant?<br>
Are you cramping or do you have other unusual pain?

My first thought is hypothyroidism. A much longer and heavier period is a common symptom.<br><br>
Have you lately had or felt:<br>
tired?<br>
cold?<br>
depressed?<br>
trouble with losing weight or gained weight?<br>
hard to remember things?<br>
constipation?

Could it be an early sign of menopause in the next few years or so? I'll (perhaps incorrectly) assume that you had Lorrie and Val when you were in your 20s or so, so you might be getting close enough to it to show its approach with weird heavy or very light periods...<br><br>
Just my .02 tho, I'm wildly guessing here.

Yes, I suppose it could be this. I do not want to get old. Shhhhhush! Stupid body should stay young and brain should keep learning. Wah.

If the clotting is unusual and the flow is heavy and you do the doctor thing, you might give the doc a call.<br><br>
I was going to say menopause, too, but I wouldn't want someone to suggest that to me, so I didn't.

I never meant to offend! Kathleen I hope I didn't hurt your feelings.<br><br>
I just figured the simpler the potential explanation, the better... I'd much rather hope that something natural and regular and SUPPOSED to happen was what was going on, instead of thinking I had some actual disease or something otherwise wrong with me... menopause, while perhaps none too welcome, is at least 'just what happens.' Thyroid conditions on the other hand are not.

When I said, "I wouldn't want someone to suggest that to me..."<br><br>
I didn't mean it like, "How dare someone say that!?"<br><br>
Instead, I meant, "Holy crap! Don't say that word! EEK! That's something my MOM gets, not me!"<br><br>

In any case, I wouldn't let heavy bleeding w/ unusual clotting go unchecked for long. If it stops soon and next month's period is more regular, I wouldn't worry.
