I am ready to make the switch!

I am ready to finish up my evil Mary Kay and change to using natural skin care and make-up.

My main problem with my skin is SHINE. I don't need a ton of coverage. I do have some redness and dark circles.

Do any of you have my skin type and use natural goodies?

Spam away!

TIA!

Hi G-Dawg!

That's so funny, because people call me that too.

Anyway, there was a thread about that where we talked about a natural skin-care regimen.

Check out this thread:

Hope this helps!
That is a really good thread! That thread is actually what helped motivate me.

Great minds think alike I guess!
Yeah the basics are using apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, green tea, and other fun stuff like eggs, honey, rosewater and other stuff to help tone, retain moisture, and improve complexion, and using baking soda, ground oatmeal, or natural clays to draw out extra oils and exfoliate the skin.
Sounds like you know a lot. Where do you get your info? Like which of those things is good for oily, or combo skin? I gues I need some direction! I don't want to go crazy in the kitchen putting stuff on my face. lol
I get bored and look at stuff online a lot, lol. Then I lash out my nerdiness here.

I'm glad you appreciate it though

I'm just going to list some favorite links that I have bookmarked and some that I'll do a search on tonight:

WOW! I am so impressed. That looks like some good reading. Thank you for all of that. I totally understand that whole inner-nerd thing!

How did you come to be called G-dawg? My first name starts with G and thats what Dh's best friend calls me. I guess it just evolved from there...

I can't wait to read all those links!

Yeah, I get into certain topics and get all nutty and learn all I can until I feel like I've got a grasp and then move onto another topic and become obsessed with that too. UGH!

I also am a whiz at doing internet searches and skimming info, so that helps and doesn't help at the same time. I can't read a real book to save my life now, I only have enough attention span to read articles and magazines. Oh well, I'll try to be better about that.

My name is Gina, so people call me Geenutz, Gigi, G-Dawg, G-thang if they're being cheeky...(no pun intended).
Wow! Thanks for those links, Spastica!! I have been interested in making my own lip balm actually and the site makeyourcosmetics.com is awesome!!

If you find anything interesting, lemme know!
What a great list of sites to learn from. Thanks for sharing!
Perhaps we can make this thread a sticky for good websites to check out. I have no idea how to make a sticky though...
Nevermind me....I'm just stalking Gina's threads that she posted links to. These ideas are fabulous!!!

Thank you

If I could figure out how to make a Sticky, I'd post these in a different Sticky.

I love my Mary Kay
: it's the only thing I've found that helps my face.

Does it make it better that I no-poo while using Mary Kay?

If you ever run out or wanted to try the "Poor Man's Proactiv" you can! Or do some of the methods alongside your Mary Kay.
