Well, I am back for number five....I am quite shocked it is this soon I only started thinking about having my last and final one last week and to my schock and dismay I took a pregnancy test just out of being curious since I felt a bit off....

I really didnt expect since we are using a birth control method :

plus AF never came back after ds who is one year old now so I dont have a clue how to know how far along I am without going to the doctors...i must say that I thought AF was back as I bled back in April for three days but very very dark blood but it didnt even fill half a period sorry for the gruesome details....but i thought that was AF starting its way back into my life.

so i am happy but a bit overwhelmed --- that it is sooo sooon but oh well so be it!

I am planning on continuing to bf ds until i either can't stand it or ds weans himself but my real dream is to tandem nurse. hopefully things will work out so that i can do this.

just wanted to share but any ideas on figuring out how far along i am would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on number 5! What is your spacing like? How old is your oldest?

Could the bleeding have been implantation bleeding?

I'm not sure mama, but if you want to tandem, do a search for it here. There is a whole thread of us tandemers that can help support you along the way. It's not always easy, but it sure is rewarding. Congratualtions on your pregnancy!

Congratulations! I never had spotting w/my first 2, but this time I had 2-3 days like you are talking about. I just assumed it was left from implantation. I was maybe 6 weeks along. The only way you'll be able to know for sure is a sonogram...earlier the better. Don't know if you wanted one or not. I had a friend who wasn't planning on getting any sonos, but she had a similar situation and had no idea how far along she was. They determined she was around 12 weeks! She skipped her whole first trimester!

Good Luck...how exciting!

thanks everybody!!!

yeah thats just it i wanted to go as ultrasound free as possible....but what ur saying is the sooner the ultrasound the better, huh? I might have to go do that...: also because i am a fast laborer and i would be scared not knowing when I am close to my due date especially since we live about 45 minutes from the hospital. but what about the fundus thing where they measure from ur pubic bone to where the midwife feels the uterus - couldnt that tell us how far along i am at this point or not?

hmmm....well i spotted on April 4th - if that was implantation would that mean that technically that is the first day i was pregnant? if so, that means this would be the beginning of my seventh week. but if it means that i was six weeks according to what the pp said about her being six weeks at the time of implantation then that means I would be alot farther along : : Plus this would be the first time out of all my pregnancies where i see this implantation thingy.... I read about it on the internet and it seems to fit whats going on but didnt mention how far along that makes u when it happens.

but the weird thing is I really think i am only weeks pregnant cause i have no symptoms except the sleepiness unless its different this time...and that would be just plain cool!!!

Implantation occurs before a positive preg test. For me it happens a few days before 4 weeks, think like 10 dpo then afer a day or two I would get a bfp.

It does vary from woman to woman just like menstrual cycles.

Fundal height is not very reliable in predicting how far along you are- there are so many variables that interfere. The earlier the ultrasound, the more reliable the due date prediction.

I'm in the same boat as you- my son was 11 months old and nursing when I conceived so I really had no idea about dates. They did an ultrasound at 10 weeks to predict the due date. Good luck to you!

I actually felt implantation about a week or so after conceiving. I had the spotting at 6 weeks. It's always different for everyone!

Through all this excitement I forgot to say that I haven't told my dear dear h yet....why you ask? well, he said he had enough kids and wasn't interested in having anymore....

so now its hitting me that I have to tell him that I am pregnant, Its not such a big deal I think
but u know we didnt ever formally agree that we werent having anymore and i always tell him how great a father he is and he should father more kids but he is busy working on his PhD and see I guess that kids are not such a good idea right now as we have four already.

ok so I see it from his perspective but this happened and i really didn't plan it and he was in on it too whether he likes it or not and I am sorry it happened now and not after he finished his PhD

so..... i cant believe i have known for a couple of days and haven't told him yet... I have been out tellin the world and haven't told him yet...

ok, I am going to go now and tell him....right now...i'll just say it happened and we gotta accept it and we gotta be happy and I love u.
