I can't believe I was being such a snappi snob!

Because I found out today that I LOVE pins! When I first got my cd's, I tried using pins and gave up after 3 tries. I tossed them in the bottom of the diaper drawer and have been using a snappi ever since.

Well, this morning I couldn't find either of my snappis (I just KNOW my cat took off with them) so I had to use pins. Side note: I can't just fold a prefold into a wrap because my DS still has 3 or 4 runny breastmilk poos a day.

So after using pins about 5 times, I've finally got the hang of it! And I think I'm going to stick with them. Not that I have a choice anyways if my snappis never show up. :LOL They just keep the dipe on soooo much better than a snappi!

:LOL I am the opposite, I use to only use pins and turned my nose to snappis. I ordered a few snappis a few weeks ago and I have hardly used my pins since. :LOL
I have used both but I suck at pins. Well, today I decided I was going to overcome my fear and conquer the pins. Then what did I do but stick my ds in the thigh! He looked at me with this tragic look on his face and did a small cry and then promptly forgot about it. Thanks goodness! But tonight I noticed a small red hole there. Poor baby. But I am not giving up. The snappi seems to squish his privates down, but the pins don't. I also like the fact that he can't pull them out and choke on them (I don't use a cover). I was getting better toward the end of the day. It is quite a learning curve for me, but I will do it!
I prefer pins, too, as long as baby cooperates. They keep the diaper on much better. The other thing is that the snappi puts pressure across the lower tummy as you have to stretch it more and more, and I can't imagine that's very comfortable. I dunno, maybe it's fine.

I also thought this. I only use a snappi if the prefold is long enough to fold some down in the front. I think it looks uncomfortable with just one layer of prefold underneath it and not so uncomfy with two layers.

I *almost* don't have any extra fabric to fold down with the premium ipf's on my 4 1/2 month old!

Ya know, they really should make toddler sized snappis.
Well I'm down to 1 snappi and that one is very elusive so I think you just inspired me to go back to pins. I'm not very good at pins yet but perhaps with practice I'll improve. I do like the look of pins, though.
And where the heck do snappis go, anyway? A snappi gnome?

They are my cat's favorite toy. I have to be very careful or he'll swipe them. I left them on the nightstand last night and then DH let the cat in the room....I hope the cat didn't eat them....

If you don't have a cat though....yeah, I like the gnome theory. :LOL

Is there a magic trick to it that I cant figure out? I'd love for pins to make sense to me. I always manage to stab myself.
Do you have a teddy or doll you can practice diapering?

i love pins and snappis both

One of my favorite things about CD is that it forces me to slow down and spend a few minutes with Kacie. So I don't mind at all that pins take a little bit longer. Although I love snappis if I'm in a hurry or Kacie is extra squirmy.
Holden is ALWAYS extra squrimy. He crawls off the minute I get the sides of the snappi done. Then I have to chase after him
Teddy bear is a good idea! Maybe if I practice I too could figure it out.

I lost my snappi a few months back and tried pins. That was the most painful few days of my life. I poked myself plenty of times, I was very glad when my DF ordered me a few more snappis.
:LOL I love them both! Snappis for when my little guy is squirmy or I am in a hurry, pins for when I can get them on him or when I want the diaper on extra snug.
