Well, I thought I'd check and see if I could reach my cervix last night, just in case something was happening down there! LOL I can't even reach it, does that mean my fingers aren't long enough or that this baby is still weeks away from being ready to enter the world??? (I used to check my cervix while TTC so I know what I'm looking for...)

Thanks for any insight!

Mine's totally unreachable. It doesn't mean a thing.

I had my m/w check me (my choice) last visit out of curiosity (she had to do the GBS swab anyway and I too would check my cervix faithfully every month when ttc, so I like knowing what's going on with my body) and found I was very soft but not a bit dilated, yet no longer posterior.

What does that mean?

Absolutely nothing.

Because really, whatever's going on with your cervix right now means zilch since it can and will change in minutes or hours once labor hits.

If you are dying of curiosity, have your m/w check you, but if you can stand the wait, then it's best to just leave it be.

(...advises the woman who couldn't wait haha.)

i was able to reach myself a couple of months ago but now my belly is way to big for me to be able to reach. thats probably a good thing because just like its not the best idea for your midwife to check you to much we probably shouldnt be doing it ourselves too often.

I can't reach mine either (haven't been able to for awhile now). I think that's pretty standard.

I couldn't reach mine either.... last week my MW couldn't even reach it. Yesterday I went in with a different midwife, and she had the hardest time reaching it!! I mean, that woman was fishing around in there for like 5 minutes!! FINALLY she found it REALLY REALLY far back. I'm already dilated to a 4! (I'm 37 weeks today)
But, I agree, I doesn't mean much. Though I'm hoping I can move things along nicely and MAKE it mean something!
