I was up at 4am this morning because my husband was hogging the bed and would not move. I was already uncomfortable so I gave up and went downstairs. I don't know if I can live through 3 1/2 more months of this!

sorry to hear it, I'm there with ya though. Being able to get to sleep, get comfortable, and not have to get up and pee once I've managed the first two.

I get really weird bouts of insomnia during pregnancy. It is usually between 4am-7am. I generally end up having to turn on my light and finish whatever book I am reading to fall back asleep. Then, just as it's time to get up, I fall into a deep sleep and struggle to wake up! It's such a lovely viscious circle!

ugh...insomnia sucks. usually i have the same thing going on that you described EugeneMom. tonight it's just an altogether sleepless night so far. i just tried toast and a big glass of milk. if that doesn't do it, i'm headed for the benadryl as a last ditch effort. it sucks too when you get no mercy from your refusing-to-nap two year old the following afternoon. i'm thinking sleepy thoughts for all of us.

I can get to sleep no problem, but if I wake up in the middle of the night I am screwed! I hate that because then I turn on my little light and have to read for an hour or so to finally fall back to sleep.

I hear ya. I was okay up until recently. I always used to sleep on my side, so I didn't have to change anything. But now for some reason I fall asleep on my side and slip onto my back, which quickly wakes me up... lying on my back is definitely constricting. Lying on my right side hurts too. Left side is okay, but I can't breathe through my nose on that side so I wake up with dry, crackly mouth every three hours. :/

This is my problem, but it's crawling it's way toward 2:30am. I usually get up to pee then lay in bed for hours trying to get back to sleep. I watch Spaceballs until I pass out. I can't count how many times I've seen it now.

My problem has been my bleeding. When I lie down, it pools in my uterus and irritates it, which cause painful contractions. That's why bedrest actually made things worse. It was better to be up and let it drain out. So I can't find a place in the house to sleep somewhat upright. We might need to invest in a recliner. I tried the rocking chair and that was too upright. I tried semisitting on the couch, and I ended up with a very stiff neck. Add that to regular insomnia anyway and I am not a happy mama.

I am finding I am sleeping better on the couch propped up with some pillows.

Oh I HEAR ya! I'm already getting so uncomfy! I'm so big already that most people think I'm having twins when I tell them that I'm not due til July! LOL (But I was the same with my other 2! I carry ALL out front (and I'm big to begin with...) but have small babies... LOL) I am lucky that I, too, have always been a side sleeper, but it's getting harder to roll over form side to side! LOL And since my amniotic fluid was a bit on the low side when I had my u/s two weeks ago (more than likely due to my being sick with the flu and getting dehydrated last month), they wanna do another u/s this week and so I've been drinking so much water that I'm floating! I SERIOUSLY was up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours last night going pee! And Calvin has decided that he only needs about 20 minutes of a nap, so I can't even snooze wth him! *sigh* I just want some SLEEP! LOL

My biggest issue last pregnancy was restless legs--please, please, let that stay away this time! It was awful. This time I am sleeping better although I do wake up frequently to readjust my position or whatever.

Jumping in from August DDC: I wondered if I was the only the person who couldn't sleep on the right side because it hurts. I'm just really uncomfortable all together. And my poor mate can't sleep because I'm constantly moving and waking him up. He's very patient and understanding about it all but I can't get uncomfortable. I had to wake him up early on Sunday morning to massage my back for me.
