DH and I co-sleep with DD (10 months old)...She's not a very sound sleeper. Usually when she wakes up she nurses for a few seconds and goes right back to sleep. Last night she woke and and I didn't wake up completely - somehow (instinct?) I startled myself awake and turned to just barely catch her about to crawl off the bed. Our bed is tall (4 ft), so she would definitely hurt herself if she fell. Any suggestions?

I'm going to put the mattress and box springs on the floor when my baby gets old enough to be mobile- my best friend did this with her 1 year old when she almost fell off the bed.

We have had our matress/box springs on the floor since DD was about a year old. It always worried me and I didn't sleep as well. Now we have her crib on one side and it makes me feel better. Sometimes, though, she still sleep-crawls, trying to crawl over her dad to the other side. I don't think she realizes there isn't any extra matress on that other side! :LOL
