Okay, just last week my dd started grabbing objects and playing with her toys at 4 mons. Before this, she was on a very predictable schedule. I knew when she would be taking naps, etc... Now I have no clue. She fights sleep more and she has cut out a couple of her naps altogether. Is this normal due to her new found love of toys? She seems so tired at night now and is going to sleep so early b/c she has cut out these naps. Will she eventually get back on track with her naps? Has anyone else experienced this and does it happen with every milestone they reach?

4 months is a really hard time for sleep. This article helped me a lot--<a href="http://www.kellymom.com/parenting/sleep/4mo-sleep.html" target="_blank">Wakeful 4 Month Olds</a>.

My sons napping schedule/sleeping schedules seems to have changed every month or two. Just when I think we have a routine - it changes. Now he is not really sleeping at all. Hoping it will pass! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

It's pretty normal to figure out their schedule and then it gets changed. I think they like to do that to us. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>
At 4 months, I'd expect a morning nap and an afternoon nap to be showing up.<br><br>
And you'll go through this again when the morning nap gets nixed closer to a year. Fun fun.

Welcome to the world of babies. Just when you get comfortable, they change everything around on you. Yay. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/upsidedown.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="upsidedown">
