I feel weird tonight... *Updated again- No baby yet :( *

I've felt like crap for awhile and I've been having what I'd call prodromal labor for the last week at least. Tonight I'm feeling almost like I'm getting sick or something and I'm wishing that it meant something good. My stomach and back feel like I've been doing a million situps (just what I wanted to feel like right now
) and I've been having alot of BH (not regular or anything more than just uncomfortable like they've been). I feel like my intestines are acting up and I'm slightly nauseous. I suddenly feel more at peace about the actual birth now and I'm feeling more emotionally ready . I'm 39w2d today and I feel SO ready to have this baby! Unfortunately though, I have no true signs that make me think that this is *it* anymore than the annoying false labor I've had on and off all week. I never went into full blown labor with dd so I'm not sure how my body will progress. Please let this turn into real labor tonight!

((((hugs))))) I felt the same way this morning, so awful I called dh and put him on "alert". It passed though, and I'm feeling okay now. I'm about as far as you are, I think? I never went into labor on my own with dd (induced) so I'm wondering how I will know too!

Sounds like we are in the same boat! I'm due Tuesday, when are you due? I was induced with my dd also, although I do believe that I was in very early labor at the time and didn't realize it (I went from 1cm the day before at the OB to 3cm the am of the induction- I just felt 'crampy' even though I was having ctx on the monitor). I wish I would get a sign if this really is it like bloody show or my water breaking or something
I did hear once "If you think you are in labor you probably aren't, if you KNOW you are in labor you are!" Sending labor vibes your way (send some back at me please too
)

I concur. I've been feeling the same as you guys for a few days now. I keep hoping that something finally happens. With ds#1 my water broke, then contractions started, and I had him 12 hours later. Incidentally I was 39w1d with him when that happened, that's today with this one. I keep hoping and hoping, but nothing yet. Labor vibes to everyone!

I started having a bit of diarrhea (sorry TMI!) around 5pm or so which is NOT normal for me at this point in pregnancy. Now I'm having contractions that are pretty uncomfortable. Not like I couldn't walk or talk through them and they definitely don't seem to be regular yet. I did just try to get up and walk to hand dd a snack during the end of one and it was NOT fun. There was alot of pressure down at my lower uterus right above my pubic bone all the way across. I can't really remember what real ctx feel like, except that I do remember my cervix hurting later on in labor. I really hope that this is real thing, not prodromal again, or just from having an upset stomach (I'd feel like a moron if this wasn't ctx and was just diarrhea cramps
: ). I'll update later if anything changes if I get a chance.

I could have written your post word for word. At this point I am choosing to ignore it, I figure if it is the real thing I will know soon enough. Labor vibes all around.

Labour vibes everyone

Becca I really hope this is it for you, can't wait to hear about your wonderful homebirth

I've been awake most of the night with contractions, they're strong enough to wake me but not regular and 15 to 20mins apart. This morning I am just crampy. I dont mind it not being labour but I need my sleep! I actually had to get DH to stay home today
, at least I got in a few more hours sleep and he is out with DS so I can have a bit of mama time

Woo-hoo! Hope it's labor for you!!!

I'm due monday (4/3)... I am feeling like something is going on with me hormonally, but no positive signs yet. But I know other early April moms who have had their babies, and others who seem to be starting labor, so it could be soon!
We're starting!

Here's to hoping hat we haven't heard from you because it's the real thing!!

Or maybe you actually got some solid sleep, wow I don't know which one I want more right now.

Good luck & sending labor vibes your way!!!
Can you husband or someone do a round ligament adjustment for you? That might help you get out of the prodromal labor (if that's what it is)... What you do is find the edge of your uterus on each side and mesure the halfway point between that and your belly button. Press gently on both sides until you feel the round ligament release (you can literally feel uterus). My acupuncturist SWEARS by this for prodromal labor!

Sending easy labor vibes your way!!!!!

Labour vibes all! I too have been having mild contrax on and off since Tuesday, last night there were none, and none this morning, so things seem to be cooling off here. Baby is due on Thursday. Labour vibes for everyone! I know how hard it is to be patient at this point, good luck with your births
.

As far as how to tell it's labour, I just wait until the contractions are hard enough I need to do active pain management through them, like moaning. If I don't need to moan, I know it's not labour for me

Well...I'm still pregnant
I had ctx that were painful and very much got my attention most of the night. They've fizzled out this morning so I'm pretty dissappointed. I didn't get alot of sleep because the ctx were about 5-10 min apart and I kept waking up at the peak of them. There was so much pressure down above my pubic bone and then in my tailbone area with each one, that I was SO sure it was the real thing. I felt like I was in a different world last night, just completely out of it which I hoped meant something was really happening.

I spoke to my MW this am and she thinks that my body just needs to keep doing this ramping up and that one night I'll realize that I need her there and it will probably go really fast from there. She said I just need to let it happen naturally because it will give me an easier labor than trying to force things. She recommended not worrying about how 'far along' I am in labor, just enjoying the nice weather we are having today and spending some time with my family outside. My DH took the day off because we weren't sure if labor would pick back up and he's also tired from me tossing and turning all night. I'm just going to let my body do its thing, and hope that I don't have too many more nights like last night. Maybe getting my mind off everything will let things actually happen.

Black Orchid- I've been seeing a chiro regularly and he does the Webster technique each appt which sounds very similar to what you are describing. I just had that done on Wednesday morning. I suppose having DH try that is worth a shot though!

Hi Becca,

Another thing to try is taking a bath. With Kaelynn, my contrax started at around 9 p.m. and kept me up all night, just painful enough, but not really too steady, a bit erratic, and kept going like that all day, sometimes stopping for 1 - 2 hours, I took a bath on my MW recommendation and was able to have a nap, then later I took another bath, nice and relaxing, no contrax while in there, and after I got out, wowweeee! Active labour - 4.5 hours and I had a baby! Might be worth a try!
Oh, sweetie!!! Huge hugs.

Rest as you can, and it does sound like once it gets going for real it really will be fast!
